Wendell Dewayne Adams

Wendell Dewayne Adams, age 85, of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma passed away Monday, July 3, 2006 in Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma.  He lived and farmed in the Headrick area for many years before moving to Nicoma Park.
He was born April 6, 1921 in Headrick, Oklahoma to John Emore Adams and Ella Winnie Adams.  On July 12,
1942 in Hobart, Oklahoma Dewayne and Winnie Mae Barker were united in marriage. She preceded him in death
July 16, 1983.
After retiring from farming he found many hobbies that he enjoyed, especially making monuments for cemeteries
and the annual trips to seven cemeteries and fifty-one gravesites where he placed flowers and flags on the graves.  
He also enjoyed raising birds and designing lawn statues; and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by four sons, Jerry Adams and wife Alice of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Richard Adams and wife
Barbara  of Headrick, Oklahoma, Tommie Adams and wife Evelyn of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Billy Adams and
wife Sharyn of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Robin Merlene Adams, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services for Dewayne Adams are scheduled for Friday, July 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt.Park Cemetery in Mt. Park,
Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends Thursday evening July 6, 2006 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Roy Acosta

Roy Acosta, age 51 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, October 28,2006 at Comanche County Memorial
Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.
He was born May 27,1955 in Ellis County, Texas to Marshall Acosta and Mary (Barron) Acosta.  Roy had lived in
the Altus and Jackson County area all of his life.  He worked for Chevalley Moving and Storage Company in Altus
for twenty years. Roy’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother Mary Acosta of Altus, Oklahoma, two children; Carla Acosta and Tony Acosta both of
Altus, Oklahoma. He is also survived by two sisters; Julia Revilla and husband Tommy of Altus, and Irene Sanchez
and husband Raymond of Altus; one brother Marshall Acosta, Jr. also of Altus, Oklahoma, and a host of other
relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Acosta.

Francisca Herazo Ayala

Francisca Herazo Ayala, age 75, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007. She died from
injuries received in a tragic vehicle accident, on her way home from a Baptist Church Revival.  
Francisca was born September 17, 1931, in Guerrero, Mexico, the daughter of Lorenzo and Josefina (Herazo)
Ayala.  She was married to Manuel Valladares Roman and together they had ten children.  Francisca moved to
Altus seven years ago from Mexico to be with her children and their families in this area.  She was an energetic
lady, always on the move.  She loved working and walking and could never be satisfied sitting still.  When she wasn’
t looking for work that needed to be done, she loved to use her energy playing with her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.  She had a wonderfully close family and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lorenzo and Josefina Ayala; and by one grandson, Manuel Valladares,
Jr.
Francisca is lovingly survived by five sons, Felix Valladares Ayala, Angel Balladares, Humberto Valladares, Adan
Valladares, and Manuel Valladares; five daughters, Martha Peralta, Rosalva Valladares, Luzmaria Valladares
Reyes, Maria Isabel Valladares, and Elvia Dejesus; three sisters, one brother, thirty-two grandchildren, nineteen
great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A Prayer Vigil will be held 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 3, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.

The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 4, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph
H. Arledge officiating.  Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.

ASHLEY


Mrs. Euva B. Ashley was born in Hot springs, Arkansas, on February,23, 1909, to Jack and Dollie (Cozart)
Kastner.  Euva and her family moved to Altus in 1923.  She attended Altus High School.

Euva married G.B.Ashley at First Baptist Church, Altus, on March 28, 1928.  She was a long time member of
First Baptist Church, Altus.  She spent most of her life in Altus, except for a few years in Oklahoma City.  
Returning to Altus in 1960, she was employed by Altus Drug Store for eight years, then moved to Tuttle in 1987,
and her final home was in Norman.

Mrs. Ashley taught Sunday School many years.  She loved teaching the teenage girls.  She was a wonderful
seamstress and found comfort in working in her flower garden that she loved.  She also loved birds and had a
number of parakeets that she taught to talk and say,”Jesus Loves Me”.  She was a dedicated prayer warrior at
First Baptist Church and spent one hour a week in the prayer room.  She took pride in being called a prayer
warrior by friends and family. When she moved to Tuttle, she became a member of First Baptist Church, where
she participated in the prayer line.


Euva Ashley was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dollie (Cozart) Kastner; husband, G.B. Ashley;
son, Glen B. Ashley and wife Bill; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include, grandchildren; Mack Ashley and wife Jackie, Checotah, Lea Ann Baugh,  Norman, and Susan
Ashley, Freeport, TX.; great-grandchildren  Stephen Ashley and wife Shelly, Gulf Breeze, Florida; Kristi Kenney,
Edmond; Ashley Coffman, Oklahoma City, and Derek Baugh, Norman; and sister-in-law, Laura Ashley,Altus
and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Graveside services for Euva B. Ashley will be Tuesday, August 21, 2007,  11:00
am. With Dr. Jeff Moore officiating at the Altus City Cemetery.  Arragments are under the direction of Lowell-
Tims Funeral Home.

Richard Allen

Richard Allen, age 78, a lifelong resident of Altus, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Altus.

Richard was born in Ballenger, Texas on April 4, 1930 to Jasper and Bertha (Turner) Allen.  On May 16, 1954
Richard married Genevieve “Petey” Smith in Amarillo, Texas and they were married for over 53 years.  Richard
was a Truck Driver and spent most of his time working.  He enjoyed traveling with Petey and they traveled all over
the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Richard was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend and
he will be missed very much.

Preceding Richard in death were his parents, Jasper and Bertha Allen; two brothers, Billy Yocham; Floyd Allen;
two sisters, Faye Perdue; and Lola Hazelwood.

Richard is survived by his wife, Genevieve “Petey” of the home; five children, Louise Briscoe and her husband Dean
of Arkansas; Vicky Williford and husband Tony Don of Hillsboro, Texas; Jack Allen and his wife Lena of Blum,
Texas; Richard B. Allen Tuttle, Oklahoma; Connie Allen of Hillsboro, Texas; two brothers, Robert Yocham of
Blair; Monroe Allen of Altus; one sister, Mary Norris of Defuniak Springs, Florida; twelve grandchildren; numerous
great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Richard Allen will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Restlawn Cemetery in Altus
with Reverend John Johnson officiating.  Under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Laura Belle Ashley

      Laura Bell Ashley, 94, lifelong resident of Jackson County, passed away January 7, 2009 at the Jackson
County Memorial Hospital.
      Laura was born July 25, 1914, in Olustee, Oklahoma to Oscar Thomas and Leona (Romine) Ketchersid.  On
December 16, 1949, she married Barney E. Ashley in Hollis, Oklahoma.  Mr. Ashley preceded her in death
February 5, 1997.
      Mrs. Ashley was a devoted member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was the oldest living member.  
There is only one other member that has been with the church longer than Laura. She was a member of the Senior
Saints.  Laura loved all kinds of needlecraft including sewing, crochet, and quilting.  In past years she enjoyed
gardening and canning her produce.  But most of all, she adored her family and liked nothing better than spending
time with them.  She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barney; one son, Richard Foreman; one grandson,
Jimmy Foreman; her brother, Clarence Ketchersid; and by two sisters, Ninaruth Walker and Mozelle Raley.
      She is lovingly survived by five children, Oscar Foreman and wife Naomi of Altus, Odis Foreman of Olustee,
Thomas Foreman and wife, T.J. of Port Orchard, WA, Arzella Rhodes and husband Jerry of Jackson, Tn. And Gay
Feazel and husband Larry of Altus; nineteen grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

      Services for Laura Bell Ashley will be on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Tabernacle Baptist
Church with Synott Matthews officiating.  Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

      The family of Laura Ashley will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
