DAVIES

Claudia Ursula Elisabeth Davies, age 53, of Altus, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Comanche County
Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Claudia was born on December 5, 1953, in Darmstadt, Germany to Daniel and Ursula (Fischinger) Davies.  With her
dad being assigned to Altus Air Force Base, she moved to Altus at age sixteen and later graduated from Altus High
School.  She continued her education at Cameron University where she graduated from nursing school and spent
several years working at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.  Being of the Episcopal faith, Claudia loved working
with and helping people.  An avid OU Sooner fan, she was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with
them and most recently had worked with her sister, Jayne, who owns JC’s Grille in Hollis.

Preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Mark Elton Ware, she is survived by one daughter, Locklin
Davies of Altus; two sisters, Jayne Stover and husband Perry of Mangum and Tracy Rogers and husband Darrel of
Altus; one brother, Dan Davies and wife Raquel of San Diego, California; six special nieces and nephews, Jeff
Warren, Cassie Anderson-Stover, Chris Stover, Jason Stover, Morgan Rogers and Jackie Pido; seven great nieces
and nephews Aspen, Maci, Adison, Andrew, Brent, Traye, and Beau,  along with many other relatives and a host of
friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral services for Claudia Ursula Elisabeth Davies will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2007, at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Farr officiating.  Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends on Sunday, May 20, 2007 from 5 until 6 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mary E. Dobbs        

Mary E. Dobbs, age 50, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008, at
Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born to C.R.(Red) and Pauline Mills on December 13, 1957, in Altus, Ok. Mary was raised in Gould, Ok.
and graduated from Gould High School in 1976. She attended Western Oklahoma State College.
Mary married Charles Dobbs June 4, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked at Dobbs & Brinkman as an
insurance agent, and also as a legal secretary for many years. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, and caring
for her plants and flowers.
Mary is survived by her husband of the home, Charles; two daughters; Bailey Dobbs of Altus Oklahoma, Mary Beth
Tischler and husband Robert of Altus Oklahoma, one grandchild Foster Tischler of Altus, Oklahoma.  One sister;
Marion Sue Sexton of Gould Oklahoma; two brothers; Randy Mills and wife Linda, of Hollis Oklahoma, Bruce Mills
and wife Melinda of Hollis Oklahoma,; two nieces Danya Mills, and Mary Jane Barnes; and two nephews JR Mills,
and Jeremy Mills.
Mary was prededed in death by both of her parents and one nephew.
Funeral  Services for Mary E. Dobbs are scheduled for Monday, February 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.at Lowell-Tims
Chapel with Jeremy Mills officiating.  Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Maria A. Delgadillo

Maria A. Delgadillo, 58, of Altus, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008, at her home in Altus.
Maria was born March 1, 1950, in Bellevue, Texas, to Manuel and Dominga (Reyna) Longoria.  She grew up in Texas
and married in Altus, Oklahoma.  She and her family moved to Michigan where they lived until 1976.  As a young
woman on her own with six children, Maria moved back to Altus to be with her other family members.  She worked
hard raising her children and working in housekeeping for many families in Altus.  Maria married Rodolfo Delgadillo in
1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She loved to read, decorate and paint her home, and spend time with her grandchildren.  
She was a faithful member of the Templo Sinai Assembly of God Church in Altus where she met the Lord after her illness.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Rudy Delgadillo of the home in Altus; her children, Rose Linda Tovar of Yukon,
Angela Dina Tovar and husband Joe of Altus, Kathy Miller and Jim of Altus, Edward Gonzales and wife Melissa of Fort
Jackson, South Carolina, Rogelio Gonzales and wife Naomi of Garland, Texas, and Erasmo Gonzales and wife Leticia of
Altus; her mother, Dominga Reyna of Altus; her brothers and sisters, Gloria Smart, Berta Delgado, Cecilia Hensley,
Elvida Bowen, Stephen Longoria, Helen Longoria, Lucy Torres, Minga Graham, Robert Longoria, Johnny Frescas, and
Ruben Frescas.  Twenty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her.
Her father, Manuel Longoria, and four brothers, Billy Longoria, Charlie Longoria, Sammy Longoria, and Timothy
Longoria preceded Maria in death.

Viewing for friends will begin on Saturday at noon at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service for family and
friends will be held at 5:30 pm Sunday, June 15, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 16, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Reverend Joe
Tovar officiating.  Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.  A
luncheon will be hosted by Templo Sinai Assembly of God in Altus after the Committal Service.

Opal Mae Dark

Opal Mae Dark, age 92 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at English Village Manor.
She was born January 19, 1916 in Hex, Oklahoma in Beckham County to John S. Blanscet and Rosa  (Ford)
Blanscet.
On December 31, 1933 in Hobart, Oklahoma Opal and Horace Dark were united in marriage. To this union three
children were born.  Horace preceded Opal in death on February 8, 2003.  For several years Opal and Horace
lived in Oklahoma City, but after retirement they moved back to Altus.
She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Opal loved cooking, sewing, vegetable gardening and tending to her
beautiful flower gardens.
She was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Mary and Duane Bowen of Altus, Oklahoma, Cleda and Louis
Strehlow of Alba,Texas; three sisters Rozelle Wale of Amarillo, Texas,Joy Lou Long of Pueblo, Colorado, and
Imogene Glasscock of Moscow,Idaho. She is also survived by six grandsons, thirteen great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Jerry Dark, one brother, one half sister, and a
grandson Terry Bowen.
Celebration of Life Service for Opal Mae Dark is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Louis Strehlow officiating.

Drury

Hazel Drury, 81, of Altus, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital in Altus.
Hazel was born October 5, 1926, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to Almer and Willie (Jones) Colmer.  She grew up in
Mountain View, where she helped on the family farm.  She graduated high school in Mountain View from a class of
seven students and later graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford where she received
her certificate for teaching in elementary education.  Hazel married Francis L. Drury November 12, 1949, in Texas.  
She taught school only a few years and then resigned so she could raise her four children.  When her children were
grown, she helped her husband in his real estate office in Altus.  She was a faithful wife who nursed her husband
through several illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, and strokes.  He preceded her in death July 22, 1983.
Through the years, she and her family lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Amarillo, Texas, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Little
Rock, Arkansas, Del City, Oklahoma, Santa Rosa, California, and then settled in Altus in 1969.  She was a faithful
member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.    
She is survived by her children, Donna Williams and husband Carl of North Richland Hills, Texas, Michael Drury and
wife Toni of Guadalupe, Arizona, Francis L. Drury, Jr. of Moore, Oklahoma, and Lucille Gwinn and husband John of
Altus; thirteen grandchildren, Angela, Teresa, Katie, Melanie, Maria, Alicia, Jennifer, Ana, Teresa, Sara, Amanda,
Jonathan, and Teddie Jo, and seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jennifer, Hugh, Samantha, Justin, Lily, and Michaela.
Her parents, husband, two sisters, and one brother preceded Hazel in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prince of Peace Catholic Church or the charity of your
choice.

A Vigil and Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

The Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in
Altus.  Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Jack Draper

Jack Draper, age 87, a long-time resident of Blair, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Altus.

Jack was born in Reed, Oklahoma on February 21, 1921 to Robert Lee and Bertha Irene (McAlister) Draper.  In
1942 he joined the United States Navy and on November 9, 1943 he married Ethel Louise Craig in Vallejo, California
and they were married for over 57 years before Ethel passed away in 2000.  After receiving an honorable discharge
from the Navy, Jack worked as a painter for the Civil Service for 27 years in Garden Grove, California and then
moved back home to Blair.  He enjoyed gardening, working with his pecan trees and farming, and he loved dancing
and going to local musicals.  Jack really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his grandkids, especially
his 11 great granddaughters.  Jack loved his church and his family and he will be missed very much.

Preceded in death by his wife Ethel; one son Ken Draper; one brother, Thomas Draper; and one sister, Bessie
Brewster; Jack is survived by two daughters, Vicki Witter of Blair; Janet Ferguson and her husband John of Altus; Six
grandchildren, Steven Witter of Blair; Robert Draper and his wife Julie of California; John Draper and his wife Karen
of Blair; Brian Draper of California; Aaron Ferguson and his wife Beth of Altus; Aimee Ferguson of Altus; eleven great
granddaughters, Brenna, Amanda, Alysa, Cassadi, Sara, Brooke, Cherish, Kadee, Emma, Hanna, Kayla; and
numerous other relatives and many friends.

Services for Jack Draper will be on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in
Blair with Reverend George Lupton officiating.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims funeral Home.

Davison

William Davison, 74, a longtime resident of Altus, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at his home in Altus.

William was born in Hempfield, Penn., on April 9, 1934, to James Harvey and Thais Anna (Sager) Davison. He
married Wanda Davison on April 9, 1952, in Custer, S. Dakota, and she passed away in 2004. He later married Ann
Marie Vizzi in 2005 in Altus.

William retired from the U.S. Air Force with an honorable discharge and also worked for the Civil Service as a fire
department trainer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was very active
in the Shriners as a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed traveling all across America with his wife Wanda for many years.
He liked collecting antiques, especially ceramics and glass, and was also an avid jogger. He would jog 3 to 5 miles
every day. He loved animals - cats and dogs were his favorites. He would bring dog biscuits on his jogs to give out.
William enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Davison; his parents; three sisters, Sara C. Kolar, Nancy Kravanja,
and infant sister Faye Davison; and two grandchildren, Jimmie L. Davison and Claire DeLume Pilgrim.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Davison of Altus; two sons, Bill Davison and wife Iris of Altus, and Wayne Davison
and wife Chong Suk of Huntsville, Ala.; two stepchildren, Patrick Pilgrim and wife Erica of Dallas, and Joseph Pilgrim
and wife Modesty of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Jim Davison and wife Christina of Mount Pleasant, Penn., and
Bob Davison of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Stella Wood of Mount Pleasant, Thelma Mismas of Ruffsdale, Penn.,
and Sandra Davison of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Kylie, Heaven, JoAnna and Joseph; one
great-grandson, Brandon, and other great-grandchildren; one special niece, Brenda Suter and her husband Jeff of
Ruffsdale; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Masonic Rites will be held at Altus City Cemetery at 3 p.m., Friday.

Dobbs

 Lois Whittington Dobbs, 84, of Blair, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital in Altus.
 Lois was born January 7, 1924, to George and Pleasant (Cantwell) Sadler in Grandfield, Oklahoma.
 She married Victor Whittington in June of 1942 in Grandfield.  To this union, nine children were born.
 In the early 1960’s, she moved to Altus where she attended Altus Beauty College and obtained her cosmetology
license.  She later worked as a waitress during the 1960’s and 1970’s at Ruby’s Café, Bus Station Café, Pike’s Café,
and Bunker Hill United Drug.
 Lois married Fred Dobbs of Altus in 1976. She then moved to the Friendship area where she enjoyed raising a
garden and harvesting and selling vegetables and pecans to the public for many years.
 Lois was also an avid musician.  She played the guitar and harmonica, loved to sing, and was a talented yodeler.  She
was a very strong woman who inspired all her children to believe in a strong work ethic.
 She moved to the Blair area in the early 1990’s where she lived with her three sons.  When her health began to fail,
she was admitted to the English Village Nursing home in 2002 where she resided until her death.  Lois was a member
of the First Baptist Church in Altus where she taught children’s Sunday school classes during the 1960’s.
 Preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one brother, Sam Sadler, two sisters, Annetta O’Keefe and Faye
Hickman, and one grandson, Garrett Whittington, Lois is survived by her nine children, Donald Whittington of
Chehalis, Washington, Arlis Whittington of Blair, Ronald Whittington of Snyder, Oklahoma, Jerry Whittington of Blair,
Jeanie Steinmetz of Havre, Montana, Janice Oak of Blair, Vicky Shaw, also of Blair, Sharon Lavoie of Great Falls,
Montana, and Kirby Myers of Memphis, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo
Sadler of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Eddie Sadler of Eastland, Texas; two sisters, Deloris Cooper of Lubbock, Texas,
and Wanda Hunter of Wichita Falls, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.


The family will greet friends on Monday, November 24, at Lowell-Tims Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Blair Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma,
with Reverend Randy Mitchell officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Darby


Hazel Inez Darby, 95, of Altus, passed away at her home Wednesday, December 10, 2008.
  Hazel was born January 1, 1913, in Duke, Oklahoma, to Frank and Eula (Evins) Marshall.  She graduated from
Duke High School in 1930 and later attended Southwestern State College for one year.
  Hazel married H.R. “Tad” Darby September 2, 1934, in Hobart, Oklahoma.  She worked as a bookkeeper at
Darby’s Furniture Store in Duke for over sixty years. She retired after the death of her husband Tad on July 19,
1996.
  Hazel and Tad moved to Altus in the late 1960’s.  She was the founding member of the Duke Wednesday Club.  
Hazel was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Duke.
  She is survived by one brother, Don Marshall of Altus; ten nephews, Matt Marshall, Luke Marshall, Frank
Marshall, Rex Marshall, Jon Darby, Robert “Bob” Darby, Ken Darby, Richard Darby, Gregory Glenn, and Mark
Glenn.
  Her parents; her husband; one son, Steven Marshall Darby on March 1, 2001, and one brother, James
“Speedy” Marshall, preceded Hazel in death.
   

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Ralph Chapman
officiating.  Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in
Altus.

Deadmon


Charles Deadmon, 80, was born in Reed, Oklahoma, and died April 22 in Silsbee, Texas.        
Charles was raised in the Victory community, graduating from Victory High School.   During his summers he spent
months with custom combine crews cutting wheat in the area of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. He enlisted in the
U S Army in 1946, serving in the Army of Occupation in Korea for over a year and was considered a World War II
veteran. In 1948, he became a student at the University of Central Oklahoma (known then as Central State College)
in Edmond, Oklahoma. He and Marianne Dial were united in marriage in Eldorado, Oklahoma in 1950.
In 1949, Charles began seismic work that would take him to most of the Western states. The opportunity to travel
enabled Charles and his family the chance to visit sites of interest, experience different cultures, and make many
life-long friends. In 1961, he began working for the federal government. He first worked at the Nevada Test Site near
Las Vegas, Nevada during the testing of the atomic bombs. The remainder of his twenty years of federal service was
engaged in monitoring earthquakes while living in Puerto Rico, Alaska, and on the East Coast. Retiring in 1981, he
returned to seismic work, retiring again in 1989. He then began a new career in security in southeast Texas, finally
retiring in 1998.
Charles was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Silsbee where he sang in the choir. For several
years, he served the church by answering the office phones and greeting visitors.
His parents, Jim and Lizzie Burden Deadmon, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Marianne Deadmon
of Silsbee; daughter and husband, Cynthia and Roy King; grandchildren, Shari King, Toby King and wife Meredith,
with their children, Riley, Tommy, and Baby King all of Houston, Texas.  One uncle, Buford Deadman, of New
Jersey and an aunt, Doris Hinson of Bedford, Texas, also survive.
His hobbies included working, photography, and collections. His photography hobby took him to all 254 counties in
Texas where he photographed the courthouses.  He loved music of any kind, from classical to pop to country to
gospel. He was a kind, faithful individual who loved his family, church, and friends.   If remembrances are chosen they
may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Eldorado or the Victory Cemetery Fund.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Davis of Altus; Henry Goodin; Jack Hinson of Colleyville, Texas; Roy King of
Houston, Texas; Toby King of Houston; Elden Minor of Tulsa. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from the Victory
community.

A memorial service will be held in Silsbee, Texas on May 1. Visitation will be at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado
on Saturday, April 25 beginning at 10 am. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 4 pm in Eldorado with Cecil
Deadman officiating. Military honors administered by the US Army Honor Guard from Ft. Sill.
DARDEN

Shann Michael Darden, age 33, of Mangum, passed away late Monday evening, June 18, 2009, at Jackson
County Memorial Hospital after a hard battle with cancer.  

Shann was born on June 5, 1976, in Boise, Idaho to Freddie Ray and Virginia Ann (Sampson) Darden.  
Moving to Mangum at the age of four, he loved fishing, playing videos and anything to do with Star Wars.

Preceded in death by his great grandfathers, Toney Johnson and Cliff Willis; great grandmother, Vera Johnson;
grandmother, Dorothy McNutt Beal; grandfathers, Bill McNutt and Cecil C. Sampson, he is survived by his
wife, Amy (Beal) Darden; two daughters, Stormie Shanelle Darden and Mysteria Jewel Darden of Mangum;
his mother, Virginia Sampson of Mesquite, Texas; his step-father, Bill Brown and wife Marie of Tulsa; one
sister, Shawna Malone of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Tony Gilley and wife Doreen of Oklahoma City;
grandparents, Sam and Janice Brown of Mangum; his mother and father-in-law, Jr. and Ruth Beal of Mangum
along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for Shann Michael Darden will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2009, at The Church
Triumphant with Rev. Tom McNutt and Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating.  Cremation arrangements are under
the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.

Aubrey Dennis

Aubrey Dan Dennis, born September 10, 1930 in Blair, Oklahoma, son of Osie F. and Oma Velda Dennis, died
June 25, 2009, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Mr. Dennis graduated from Norman High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where he joined the
United States Navy in July 1952.  He started as a yeoman on a navy ship and transitioned to Naval Cadet Training
where he received his navy wings and his naval commission as a naval officer in 1954.
His first duty station was VS-30 in Norfolk, Virginia in 1954 where he flew anti-submarine aircraft.
In 1955, he joined VR-31 in Norfolk as Lieutenant, Junior Grade and a carry-on delivery pilot.  He met his wife,
Sallie Kay Tebo, in Norfolk and they married on June 8, 1958.
In 1958, he was stationed in Naples, Italy with VR-24 flying on and off aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean.
In 1960, he was stationed in Pensacola, Florida as a flight instructor where he molded the skills of young navy pilots.
In 1964, he was stationed again in Naples, Italy with VR-24 as a senior officer where he delivered critical
ammunition and supplies to all aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean.
In 1966, he was transferred to Kingsville, Texas with VT-22 where he trained young fighter pilots in advanced aerial
tactics.
In 1968, he was transferred to VRC-50 in Atsugi, Japan where he flew in combat missions over Viet Nam for two
years before he was shot down and severely injured.
In 1970, he was transferred to the Naval Aviation Training Command in Memphis, Tennessee where he continued to
fly and was the officer in charge.
In May 1972, he retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and moved back to Blair, Oklahoma.  He has
been raising cattle and farming on his Flying D Ranch for the last 37 years.
Mr. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sallie Kay, and their four children:  Audie Dennis, Donna Duff, Tommy Dennis,
and Kimberly Hill, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services for Aubrey Dan Dennis will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the First Baptist Church
in Blair with Reverend Tommy Dennis officiating.  Interment will follow at Blair Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
