| Dishman Juanita Mae Herring Dishman passed away December 24, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Born in Jackson County on May 2, 1918, to W.D. (Dick) and Katie Mae Robertson Herring, and was raised by Dick and Beryl Herring after her mother's death when Juanita was seven. Juanita was the oldest of eleven children. She married Roy L. Dishman on October 25, 1939 and together they had two children, Linda Lee and Michael Roy. Juanita was the most loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother any child could ask for. In the summer, our house was filled with cousins for weeks at a time. Many times the housework was left behind for an impromptu picnic or a climb up the mountain or just to wander around the creek behind the house. She and Roy worked the cattle and the farm together until health forced them to turn the job over to Michael. They both worked hard and had the physical problems that plague farmers' lives. She had resided at Tamarack Retirement Center for almost five years and considered Kay and Sandra and the rest of the people there as family. We want to thank them for their wonderful care and love they gave to her. Kay was alyways coming up with activities to keep her busy and feeling productive. Everything from puzzles to making jewelry to quilting and the latest project, stuffed bears for children in need. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, two sisters, Wilma Cates and Ometta Faye Wilks, two brothers, Bill Herring and Rod Herring, and son-in-law Bob W. Cravens. Survived by daughter Linda Dishman Cravens, son Michael Roy and wife Diane Dishman, grandchildren Robin Renee Cravens, Robert Charlie Cravens, Christopher Michael and wife Courtney Dishman, and Derick Grant Dishman. Sisters Lorena Lockwood, Oletta Akins, Katie James and husband Paul, Iva Jean Laughery, and Alma Rahe Gilreath and husband Leslie, brother Art Herring, sisters-in-law Dovie Dishman, Lorene Herring and Lavinia Herring and many, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Juanita often told others that she couldn't have been blessed with better children, but we were the ones who were blessed to have such a loving and giving Mother. This family has lost a great and wonderful woman and she and her wisdom and wry humor will be greatly missed every day by her children and grandchildren. We wish to thank the nursing staff at Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Dr. Melinda Powers for the kind and tender care they gave to Mother and this family.
