| ELLIS Adele Ellis, 89, of Mangum died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, in Clinton, OK. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Cave Creek Cemetery, Vinson, OK, under the direction of Greer Funeral Home. Mrs. Ellis was born to the late Noah and Pearl Quinn in Hughes, Co., OK, on Aug. 16, 1916. She married Mose Ellis on Oct. 29, 1932, in Mangum. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1971. Adele was a homemaker and longtime resident of Harmon Co., OK, on their farm and ranch southeast of Vinson for over 50 years before moving to Mangum. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Reed Homemakers Extension Club and enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and cooking delicious meals for her extremely large immediate and extended family. Adele is survived by 8 sons and 2 daughters, Nancy Hayes and husband Mark, of Lawton, OK, Rance Ellis and wife Jean, of Mangum; Alvin Ellis and wife Jane, of Snyder, OK., Jim Ellis and wife Wanda, of Panhandle, TX., Shirley Derby and husband Delbert, of Clinton, OK., Kent Ellis and wife Dana, of Mangum, Clinton Ellis of Arapaho, OK., Clayton Ellis of Dover, OK, Carl Ellis and wife Brenda of Vinson, OK, and Randy Ellis of Crescent, OK; 2 brothers, Leslie Sorrells of Council, ID, and Junior Sorrells of Panhandle, TX.; 3 sisters, Lillie Mae Crawford of Vega, TX.,Juanita Stump and Janie Sue Grissom, both of Memphis, TX; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. | ELLISON Ruby Lee (Adams) Ellison, age 87 of Mangum, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2005 in Mangum. Ruby was born on March 6, 1918 in Greer County, Oklahoma to Mute and Mora (Hughey) Adams. She married Andrew Ellison on March 5, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Andy and Ruby were married for over forty-two years before his death in 1994. Ruby was formerly of Oklahoma City and lived in Mangum since 1971. She worked at the Coyn Camel Institution for many years. Ruby was a devoted nurse and really cared for people. Visiting with people, fishing, baseball, Country Music, and dancing with Andy when he was alive were some of Ruby’s favorite things. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andy, seven brothers, and two sisters. Several distant nieces and nephews and many friends of Mangum and Grace Living Center and her special friend and caregiver Jo Ann Watkins and her son Jake and friends Jean Avery and Trisha Young , Candy Williams and there families survive her. Funeral services for Ruby Lee (Adams) Ellison will be held Monday, January 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Living Center in Mangum, Oklahoma with Reverend Don Ross officiating. Interment will be at Whiteflat Cemetery in White Flat, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum. | ELLISON Vernita Ellison, age 80 of Mangum, passed away at Baptist Village Care Center in Oklahoma City on Friday, September 23, 2005. Vernita was born on April 13, 1925 to Carroll Simpson and Etta Carter Simpson in Wetumpka, Oklahoma. She married William Hendricks in 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1962. On August 18, 1983 Vernita married Robert Ellison in Odessa, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2000. A member of St. John Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Vernita loved to cook for her family and friends. She was also employed as a cook for many years at Granny Stevens Service Station and Cafe. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Thelma Simpson, Carrie Kelly and Penny Rockwell and one son, Tommy Lee Hendricks. She is survived by six children, Billy (William) Hendricks, Robert Dale Hendricks, Johnny Ray Hendricks, Johnetta Lane-Williams, Bertha Spencer, Wanda Hendricks. Funeral services for Vernita Ellison will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at St. John Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Mangum with Rev. James Callins and Rev. Reggie Hamilton officiating.
