LOWELL
Bufford Olan Lowell, age 80 of Oklahoma City died at his residence Sunday morning June 4, 2006.  Funeral
services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th at 2:00 P.M. in the Snyder First United Methodist Church
officiated by Rev. Sue Lykins.  Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.

Born July 9, 1925 at Roosevelt he was the son of Arch and Linda Lowell.  Bufford attended Consolidated 8
School east of Warren and was graduated in 1944.  He joined the Army just out of High School and married
Reta Faye Miller November 23, 1945 at Vernon, Texas.  Reta Faye preceded him in death February 4, 2006.
 He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

LOWELL
Reta Faye Lowell, age 78, of Oklahoma City and former resident of Snyder died at the Windsor Hills Nursing
Facility in Oklahoma City Saturday.  Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at
11:00 A.M. in the Snyder First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Sue Lykins.  Burial will follow in the
Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

Reta was born August 6, 1927 at Snyder and was the daughter of Cager and Lillie Miller.  She attended
school in Snyder and was graduated from Snyder High School in 1945.  She married Bufford Olan Lowell
November 23, 1945 at Vernon, Texas.  

Reta and Bufford made their home in Oklahoma City where she entered public service with the Internal
Revenue Service in 1946.  She retired August 6, 1982.  Although a resident of Oklahoma City Rita always
considered Snyder home as well.

She was preceded in death by her father Cager Miller in 1962 and her mother Lillie Fay Morgensen Miller in
1995.  Survivors include her husband of 60 years Bufford Lowell of Oklahoma City.  Also surviving is a number
of relatives and friends.

Emma Mae Littrell

Emma Mae Littrell, 84, of Eldorado, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2006, at the Jackson
County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Emma was born March 28, 1922, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to Fred and Emma Zonajane (Pauquit) Mobbs.  As one of
eight children (three boys and five girls), Emma worked alongside her brothers in the field doing farm work.  She
attended school in the Atoka-Bentley area, where she met the love of her life, Lonnie Littrell.  They married June
17, 1937, in Durant, Oklahoma, and six children were born to this union.  The family moved from the Durant area
and lived in several southwestern Oklahoma towns where they operated their custom hay harvesting/baling
business.  They eventually made their home in Eldorado and Emma worked hard to meet the needs of her family
and later caring for her grandchildren as well.  When her great-grandchildren came along, she had special
nicknames for each one.  The word “homemaker” did not do her justice because of the varied jobs in her lifetime.  
She loved cooking large meals for family gatherings and, in her earlier years, grew a variety of vegetables in her
garden.  She also enjoyed sewing and doing embroidery work.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emma Zonajane Mobbs, her husband, Lonnie Littrell on
November 4, 1989, two sons, Mathew Littrell and Phillip Littrell; one daughter, Karen Ary; brothers, Floyd, Jess,
and Ralph, and sisters, Annie, Maude, and Ida.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Gurnick of Oklahoma City; two sons, Frankie Littrell of the home in
Eldorado and Hershell Littrell of Altus; one sister, Mildred Eldridge of Atoka, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Robbie
McCullough and her husband Ed, Trina Frullo and her husband Joe, Cherry Neighbors and her husband Chris,
Trudy Calvillo and her husband Nick, Delmas Eugene Ary, Mathew Dean Ary, Phyllis Johnson, Phillip Littrell, Jr.,
Christy Osbourne and her husband, and Jarod Littrell.  She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren,
Amber, Logan, Tony, Page, Allyson, Christopher, Cherrish, Chance, Cash, Brittani, KC, Cassandra, and
Machaela.

Funeral Services for Emma Littrell are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at the Faith
Temple in Eldorado with Pastor Joe May officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, Sept 26.

Littrell

Hershell Dean Littrell, 53, of Eldorado, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006, at the Plantation Village
Nursing Home in Altus.
Hershell was born December 12, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Lonnie and Emma Mae (Mobbs) Littrell.  He
attended Duke Public Schools in the early 1960’s and then attended school in Blair a few years later.
Hershell worked in the family’s custom hay harvesting/baling business for a number of years.  He and his family
worked in several southwest Oklahoma towns while making their home in Eldorado.  He loved country and gospel
music, singing in church, and being with his family. He especially enjoyed eating and playing his music.  These
last few years, Hershell battled Parkinson’s Disease and Altzheimers and had lived the last two years of his life in
the Plantation Village Nursing Home in Altus.  He was a member of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in
Eldorado.
Preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Littrell on November 4, 1989, and his mother, Emma Littrell on
September 24, 2006, two brothers, Mathew Littrell and Phillip Littrell, Sr., and one sister, Karen Ary, Hershell is
survived by one brother, Frankie D. Littrell of Eldorado; one sister, Janet Gurnick of Oklahoma City; nieces and
nephews, Robbie McCullough and husband Ed of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, Trina Frullo and husband Joe of
Oklahoma City, Cherry Neighbors and husband Chris, also of Oklahoma City, Trudy Calvillo and husband Nick,
Delmas Eugene Ary, Mathew Ary, all of Altus, Phyllis Johnson and husband Mark Daniels of Denton, Texas, Phillip
Littrell, Jr., Christy Osbourne and husband Eric, and Jarod Littrell, all of Amarillo, Texas; many great-nieces, great-
nephews, and a host of friends.

Mr. Littrell will Lie in State on Wednesday at Lowell-Tims in Altus and Thursday and Friday at the Lowell-Tims
Chapel in Eldorado.

Graveside Services for Hershell Littrell will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 17, at the Eldorado Cemetery in
Eldorado, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Bobby G. Land

Bobby was born March 4, 1953 at Tinker Air Force Base in Mid West City Okla.  He died Jan. 16, 2007 in Altus.
He was the son of Bobby Gerald and Delorese Lloyd  Land.
He entered active duty in the US Air Force in Oct, 1971. He served 2 tours in Viet Nam and was hhonorably
discharged with 80% disability from the USAF in Sept. 1977. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Little
Rock, Ark.  He graduated from Lake Charles High School in Lake Charles , La. He completed 2 years at Okla.
State Univ.
Bobby is survived by his parents Bobby Gerald and Delorese Lee Lloyd Land children,daughter Marielle Land
Howard and son, Christopher Paul Land. Three grandchildren, Caitlynn Marian-Jean Land, Jordyn Cristopher
Land, and Hunter Isaac Howard.  One aunt Luella Land, one nephew Tyler Don Land, two niecaes Suzette
Hopkins , Michelle Connor and one sister-in law Donna Land.
He was preceded in death by one brother Philip Kent Land.                 
Memorial Service are Friday Jan. 19, 2007 at 1:30 Pm at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore
officiating. Interment will take place at the Altus Cemetery at a later date under the direction of Lowell-Tims

Lynch

Jean Anne Lynch, 46 died at her home in Altus, Oklahoma Feburary 28, 2007.  Services will be held in her
hometown, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Jean Anne is survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws,  Pam and Steve Dickey, and Mary and Mike Parritus;
and  two brothers and her sister-in-law, Mark Lynch, and Michael and Melanie Lynch.  She had many nieces,
nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Jean Anne was born December 30,1960  to Donald and Marylin Lynch.  In 1978 she graduated from high school
and moved to Denver, Colorado where she met Martin Lewis, who would be her future husband.  Jean Anne
moved  to Oklahoma with Martin where they were married in 1983.  They had three children together, Joshua
Donald Lewis, Jessica Anne Lewis, and Jenna Marie Lewis.
She was a joyful woman full of charm and beauty, but lacked coordination.  Jean Anne was an aerobics
instructor,and a teacher. She was a caregiver to people with mental disabilities. She majored in psychology and
obtained a masters degree in science.  Above all, she was a wonderful wife and mother.  Her family was her
heart and she was theirs.  Jean Anne left her mark on everyone she encountered.

Jean Anne is preceded in death by her beloved father, Donald Lynch.

Charlie Lewis

Charlie Herman Lewis, 94, of Hollis, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the Harmon Memorial
Hospital in Hollis.
Charlie was born April 21, 1912, in Harmon County to Robert Henry and Fannie Mae (Cansler) Lewis.  He
attended school at Red Top north of Hollis, which was one of the many little country schools in Harmon
County at the time.
Charlie married Tinnie Baker in 1934 in Altus, Oklahoma.  He was a lifetime resident of Harmon County
where he farmed cotton and wheat most of his adult life.  After retiring from farming, he and Tinnie moved
into town and enjoyed their retirement by traveling across the United States and Europe.  Charlie was a
member of the Church of Christ in Hollis.
He is survived by his only son, Jack Lewis and wife Dona, of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Candy
Marshall and husband Steve, and Craig Lewis and wife Kristy; four great-grandchildren, Grant Lewis,
Caroline Lewis, Mollie Marshall, and Jenny Marshall, all of Amarillo, and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tinnie on February 11, 2001, and nine brothers and
sisters.         

Funeral Services for Charlie Lewis will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Patterson Greer
Chapel in Hollis with Reverend Jim Fishback officiating.  Interment will follow at Dryden Cemetery east of

LANDERS

Sandra Joan Landers, age 53, of Midwest City and formerly of Altus, passed away early Friday morning at
Midwest City Regional Medical Center.

Sandra was born on September 16, 1953, in Sayre, Oklahoma to Howard Welcome and Mary Joan (Shirley)
Waller.  Moving to Mangum at a young age, she graduated from Mangum High School and continued her
education at Okmulgee Tech, obtaining a degree in accounting and finance.  A longtime member of
Emmanuel Baptist Church of Altus, Sandra lived in several places and worked as an accountant and
bookkeeper.  On September 15, 1994, she married Jon Landers in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Howard, she is survived by her husband Jon, of the
home, two sons, Randall Taylor of Altus and Justin Bailey of Pratt, Kansas; her mother, Joan Callen of Altus;
two brothers, Ken Waller and wife Mary of Payette, Idaho and Terry Callen and wife Annette of Altus; two
grandchildren, Ashley Taylor and Corey Taylor of Plano, Texas; one sister, Charlene Joiner of Mangum; a
special uncle and aunt, Crawford Thompson and wife Billie Jo of Mangum along with many nieces, nephews
other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Sandra Joan Landers will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Lowell-Tims

Glenda Lewis

Glenda Lewis, 67, of Hollis, passed away at her home Thursday, June 28, 2007.
Glenda was born July 27, 1939, in Mountainair, New Mexico, to Clifton and Ara Dell (Cook) Osborn.
She graduated from Hollis High School in 1957 and was an excellent basketball player.  She attended college
later in life at WOSC in Altus and SWOSU in Weatherford.  Glenda married Reggie Lewis in 1989 and they
enjoyed 10 happy years together before his death in 1999.
Glenda worked at many places throughout her adult life.  She started working at the Neighborhood Youth
Corp in Hollis in the late 1960’s.  She then took a job as a bookkeeper for Jim Darnell, an accountant in Hollis
at the time.  She also worked for Cable One, Jackson Aerial Spraying, and Anson Oil Drilling Company in
Weatherford.  For the past twelve years, Glenda was a dedicated employee at Colonial Manor I Nursing Home
in Hollis, where she was currently employed.
She is survived by her three children, Kenny Jackson and wife Kris of Abilene, Texas, Karen Coomes and
husband Tom of Hollis, and Kathryn Rath and husband Larry of Fort Smith, Arkansas; five grandchildren,
Justin Jackson of Enid, Oklahoma, Jaci Jackson of Abilene, Texas, Ryan Coomes of Hollis, David Rath and
Allyson Rath, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, W.C. (Clyde) Osborn and wife Dorothy of Oklahoma
City, and Ravanol (Pete) Osborn and wife Carolyn of Brooksville, Florida; her mother-in-law, Rosedell Lewis of
Hollis; a very special friend, Dalton Webster and his family; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Ara Osborn, and her husband, Reggie Lewis.

Toy Ann Lewis, age 67, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma
City.

Mrs. Lewis was born on February 18, 1940, to Harrison and Etoy (McKenzie) Thurmond at Altus.  As a child,
she attended Ozark School and later graduated from Altus High School in 1958.  After graduation she moved
to Texas for a short time before returning to Jackson County.  On July 24, 1961, she married Kenneth Lewis in
Vernon, Texas and they spent forty-six wonderful years together before her death.  Throughout her life, she
enjoyed mountain climbing, painting, working in her garden and yard, but most of all she enjoyed spending
time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents and a special aunt and uncle, Odell and Raliegh Wilson, she is survived by
her husband, Kenneth, of the home; two sons, Kenny Lewis of Altus and Chris Lewis of Norman; three
brothers, Keith Thurmond and wife Jane of Elmer, Harry (Butch) Thurmond and John Thurmond and wife Gail
of Elmer; a brother-in-law, Arlie Lewis and wife Thelma of Amarillo, Texas; a sister-in-law, Sharon Cain and
husband Jim of Morriston, Tennessee along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Toy Lewis will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral

LaJeune

Charles Ray LaJeune, age 64, of Duke, Oklahoma passed away Sunday September 16, 2007 at Jackson
County Memorial Hospital.  Mr. LaJeune had owned and operated several restaurants in the Altus area

LEWIS

Bernice Marie Lewis, age 77, of Lueders, Texas and formerly of Altus, passed away on Saturday, October 13,
2007, in the Abilene, Texas Regional Hospital.

Bernice was born on June 11, 1930, to Henry and Sally (Flannigan) Green in Marshall, Texas.  After attending
school in Karens, Texas, she moved several places before moving to Altus in the early 1990’s.  Shortly after her
move to Altus, she met and married Wallace Lewis.  After his death in 2000, Bernice moved to Lueders, Texas
to be near her family.  Fishing, sewing and cooking were things that she enjoyed, but worshiping God was the
most important thing in her life.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by two sisters, Ethel Armstrong of Altus and
Ruth Hill of Lueders, Texas; two brothers, Lawerence Elem of Lancaster, Texas and Nathaniel Lewis of Dallas,
Texas along with many nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

LEWTON

Dorothy Lewton, age 95, long time resident of Altus, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at the
Henryetta Medical Center.

Mrs. Lewton was born on September 8, 1912, in Onida, South Dakota to Ellis and Minnie Schriever.  She
was raised on a farm where her parents worked and was very proud of her German heritage.  Leaving South
Dakota at a young age, she moved to California where she became a riveter on B17’s, for Douglas Aircraft,
during the war.  In the late 1940’s, she married Austin Lewton, Sr., in Long Beach, California, who was a
member of the United States Army.  Austin’s military service soon took them to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma where he
was discharged.  In 1947, they moved to Altus and Dorothy began cooking with twenty-five of those years
cooking at the Friendship Inn.  She moved to Henryetta earlier this year to be near her son, for health
reasons.

Preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, she is survived by two children, Carol Buck and husband
Charles of Orlando, Florida and Austin Lewton of Henryetta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Elizabeth
Roberts of England, Christopher Snider, Jonathan Snider and Michael Snider all of Fairfield, Texas along
with many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Dorothy Lewton will be at 3 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2007, at the Altus City
Cemetery with Jerry Don Henry officiating.  Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of
Altus.

Little

Lee Opal Little, 87, of Denton, Texas formerly of Altus passed away Monday, February 24, 2008 at Senior
Care of Denton. She was born April 23, 1920 in Atoka Co., to Joseph Elliott Walker and Flora Etta Jane
Wilson Walker.  She married James C. Little on December 4, 1937 in Frederick, Ok.  He preceded her in
death.  She was a member of Order of Eastern Star of Oklahoma and Denton Church of Christ.  Lee moved
to Altus, Ok. with her family as an infant and lived most of her life there until moving to Denton, Texas in
1968.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Denton in the chapel of DeBerry
Funeral Directors with Terry Collins officiating.  Burial will be Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the
City of Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

She is survived by son, Jimmy E. Little and wife Theresa of Denton; granddaughter, Jennifer Deal and
husband Robert of Denton, Becky Morales and husband Jamie of The Colony, Texas Kim Malone and
husband Joey of Sanger, Texas; great grandchildren, Russell and Mitchell Deal, Joshua, and Megan and
Aubrey Malone, Ashlee and Zachary Morales; niece Lila Shadid and nephew W.G. Walker, both of Altus and
other extended family.  She is prededed in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Gardner Walker, Ollie
Walker and Arlie Walker.

Vincent Lyle
     


Mrs. Vincent Lyle, 93, of Altus, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Jackson County Memorial
Hospital in Altus.
Vincent was born December 13, 1914, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Joshua Marion and Grace Vera (Amey)
Wright.  She graduated from Bartlesville High School and later worked at First National Bank of Bartlesville as a
bookkeeper.
Vincent married Henry Lyle in May of 1936 in Bartlesville.  They had many happy years together before his
death in June of 1980.
She is survived by two nieces, Pat Ward of Altus, and Marlene Hertz of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two nephews,
Jim Wright of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Clifford Wright of Rhode Island; numerous great-nieces and
great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Marion and Grace Wright; her husband, Henry Lyle; two sisters, Cleta Perry and Vera Wright;
three brothers, Miner Wright, Albert Wright, and Robert Wright; and one nephew, Richard Wright, preceded
her in death.



Memorial Services for Vincent Lyle will be held at a later date in Bartlesville.  Arrangements are under the

LEWIS

Patsy Carolyn Lewis, age 75, of Fort Worth and formerly of Altus, passed away at her home on Saturday,
March 8, 2008.

Patsy was born on May 24, 1932, in Friendship, Oklahoma to Roy and Ollie (Thompson) Brake.  At an early
age she moved to Altus and later married Alfred Thomas Lewis Jr., at Pampa, Texas in 1948.  Patsy and her
family lived in many places while her husband worked in the oil field business.  After Tommy retired they moved
to the Quartz Mountain area where they lived until his death.  A short time later, Patsy moved to the Fort
Worth, Texas area to be near her children.  Patsy loved spending time with her family, doing church work and
serving others. She even made a mission trip to China with some of her friends to help others.  

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Wade Brake; two sisters, Twana Thomason and
Clois Walker, she is survived by three children, Debbi Heidenreich and husband Richie of Ft. Worth, Texas,
Mike Lewis of Royse City, Texas and Tim Lewis of Ft. Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, Trey Heidenreich,
Tiffany Heidenreich, Tyler Heidenreich, Ronnie Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Aaron Lewis, Gabriel Lewis and Nikole
Lewis; one sister, Maxine Hogan of Mangum; one sister-in-law, Louise Hayes of Jacksboro, Texas and many
other relatives and friends.

Nelta (Kelley) Law, 74, of Altus, passed away at her home Saturday, March 15, 2008.
       Nelta was born April 23, 1933, to Clovis and Esther Mae (Lanning) Kelley in Olustee, Oklahoma, where
she was raised.  She attended school in Olustee from first through twelfth grade.  After graduation, she
attended Lippert Business School in Wichita Falls, Texas, and then went on to Wayland Baptist College.  Her
interest in business and computers was what she loved doing.  She was employed as Association Executive
Officer for the Altus Board of Realtors from 1983 to 2008.  She was awarded many awards, but the highest
honor that was bestowed upon her was by the Oklahoma Association of Realtors as a member of Omega Tare
RHO Fraternity.  She was a member of Altus Association of Realtors, Oklahoma Association of Realtors, and
Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 4876.
       She loved to spend time with family, realtor friends, and traveling.  In December of 1961, she married Carl
Law and spent 40 years with him until his death in January 2002.
       Nelta is survived by three sons, Kevin Law and wife Roben of Altus, Robert Law and wife Sherry of
Oklahoma City, and Mike Law of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Debbie Freeze and husband Gary of Altus;
grandchildren, Kyle Law and wife Staci of Altus, Karissa Heron and husband Tom of Oklahoma City, Mellissa
Law of Oklahoma City, Mica Peele and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Jordan Law of Oklahoma City, Brandi
Law of Oklahoma City, Dustin Law of Oklahoma City, Ashly Kooken of Edmond, Holly Kooken of Altus, Justin
Freeze, and Brandon Freeze, both of Altus; four great-grandchildren, Micheal Heron, Mason Law, Lucas Peele,
and Sydney Heron; and all her Realtor friends.
       She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, Clovis and Esther Kelley; one sister, Rowena
Porter; one brother, Clinton Kelley, and one precious grandson, John Mark Pierce.         

Funeral Services for Nelta Law will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating.  Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the directions of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
