| LOWELL Bufford Olan Lowell, age 80 of Oklahoma City died at his residence Sunday morning June 4, 2006. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus. Born July 9, 1925 at Roosevelt he was the son of Arch and Linda Lowell. Bufford attended Consolidated 8 School east of Warren and was graduated in 1944. He joined the Army just out of High School and married Reta Faye Miller November 23, 1945 at Vernon, Texas. | Littrell Hershell Dean Littrell, 53, of Eldorado, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006, at the Plantation Village Nursing Home in Altus. Hershell was born December 12, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Lonnie and Emma Mae (Mobbs) Littrell. He attended Duke Public Schools in the early 1960’s and then attended school in Blair a few years later. Hershell worked in the family’s custom hay harvesting/baling business for a number of years. He and his family worked in several southwest Oklahoma towns while making their home in Eldorado. He loved country and gospel music, singing in church, and being with his family. He especially enjoyed eating and playing his music. These last few years, Hershell battled Parkinson’s Disease and Altzheimers and had lived the last two years of his life in the Plantation Village Nursing Home in Altus. He was a member of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in Eldorado. Preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Littrell on November 4, 1989, and his mother, Emma Littrell on September 24, 2006, two brothers, Mathew Littrell and Phillip Littrell, Sr., and one sister, Karen Ary, Hershell is survived by one brother, Frankie D. Littrell of Eldorado; one sister, Janet Gurnick of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Robbie McCullough and husband Ed of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, Trina Frullo and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, Cherry Neighbors and husband Chris, also of Oklahoma City, Trudy Calvillo and husband Nick, Delmas Eugene Ary, Mathew Ary, all of Altus, Phyllis Johnson and husband Mark Daniels of Denton, Texas, Phillip Littrell, Jr., Christy Osbourne and husband Eric, and Jarod Littrell, all of Amarillo, Texas; many great-nieces, great- nephews, and a host of friends. | Bobby G. Land Bobby was born March 4, 1953 at Tinker Air Force Base in Mid West City Okla. He died Jan. 16, 2007 in Altus. He was the son of Bobby Gerald and Delorese Lloyd Land. He entered active duty in the US Air Force in Oct, 1971. He served 2 tours in Viet Nam and was hhonorably discharged with 80% disability from the USAF in Sept. 1977. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Little Rock, Ark. He graduated from Lake Charles High School in Lake Charles , La. He completed 2 years at Okla. State Univ. Bobby is survived by his parents Bobby Gerald and Delorese Lee Lloyd Land children,daughter Marielle Land Howard and son, Christopher Paul Land. Three grandchildren, Caitlynn Marian-Jean Land, Jordyn Cristopher Land, and Hunter Isaac Howard. One aunt Luella Land, one nephew Tyler Don Land, two niecaes Suzette Hopkins , Michelle Connor and one sister-in law Donna Land. He was preceded in death by one brother Philip Kent Land. | Lynch Jean Anne Lynch, 46 died at her home in Altus, Oklahoma Feburary 28, 2007. Services will be held in her hometown, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Jean Anne is survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Pam and Steve Dickey, and Mary and Mike Parritus; and two brothers and her sister-in-law, Mark Lynch, and Michael and Melanie Lynch. She had many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Jean Anne was born December 30,1960 to Donald and Marylin Lynch. In 1978 she graduated from high school and moved to Denver, Colorado where she met Martin Lewis, who would be her future husband. Jean Anne moved to Oklahoma with Martin where they were married in 1983. They had three children together, Joshua Donald Lewis, Jessica Anne Lewis, and Jenna Marie Lewis. She was a joyful woman full of charm and beauty, but lacked coordination. Jean Anne was an aerobics instructor,and a teacher. She was a caregiver to people with mental disabilities. She majored in psychology and obtained a masters degree in science. Above all, she was a wonderful wife and mother. Her family was her heart and she was theirs. Jean Anne left her mark on everyone she encountered. Jean Anne is preceded in death by her beloved father, Donald Lynch. Local arrangements are under the directions of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. | Charlie Lewis Charlie Herman Lewis, 94, of Hollis, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis. Charlie was born April 21, 1912, in Harmon County to Robert Henry and Fannie Mae (Cansler) Lewis. He attended school at Red Top north of Hollis, which was one of the many little country schools in Harmon County at the time. Charlie married Tinnie Baker in 1934 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime resident of Harmon County where he farmed cotton and wheat most of his adult life. After retiring from farming, he and Tinnie moved into town and enjoyed their retirement by traveling across the United States and Europe. Charlie was a member of the Church of Christ in Hollis. He is survived by his only son, Jack Lewis and wife Dona, of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Candy Marshall and husband Steve, and Craig Lewis and wife Kristy; four great-grandchildren, Grant Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Mollie Marshall, and Jenny Marshall, all of Amarillo, and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tinnie on February 11, 2001, and nine brothers and sisters. | LEWTON Dorothy Lewton, age 95, long time resident of Altus, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at the Henryetta Medical Center. Mrs. Lewton was born on September 8, 1912, in Onida, South Dakota to Ellis and Minnie Schriever. She was raised on a farm where her parents worked and was very proud of her German heritage. Leaving South Dakota at a young age, she moved to California where she became a riveter on B17’s, for Douglas Aircraft, during the war. In the late 1940’s, she married Austin Lewton, Sr., in Long Beach, California, who was a member of the United States Army. Austin’s military service soon took them to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma where he was discharged. In 1947, they moved to Altus and Dorothy began cooking with twenty-five of those years cooking at the Friendship Inn. She moved to Henryetta earlier this year to be near her son, for health reasons. Preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, she is survived by two children, Carol Buck and husband Charles of Orlando, Florida and Austin Lewton of Henryetta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberts of England, Christopher Snider, Jonathan Snider and Michael Snider all of Fairfield, Texas along with many other relatives and friends. Little Lee Opal Little, 87, of Denton, Texas formerly of Altus passed away Monday, February 24, 2008 at Senior Care of Denton. She was born April 23, 1920 in Atoka Co., to Joseph Elliott Walker and Flora Etta Jane Wilson Walker. She married James C. Little on December 4, 1937 in Frederick, Ok. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star of Oklahoma and Denton Church of Christ. Lee moved to Altus, Ok. with her family as an infant and lived most of her life there until moving to Denton, Texas in 1968. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Denton in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Terry Collins officiating. | Vincent Lyle Mrs. Vincent Lyle, 93, of Altus, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Vincent was born December 13, 1914, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Joshua Marion and Grace Vera (Amey) Wright. She graduated from Bartlesville High School and later worked at First National Bank of Bartlesville as a bookkeeper. Vincent married Henry Lyle in May of 1936 in Bartlesville. They had many happy years together before his death in June of 1980. She is survived by two nieces, Pat Ward of Altus, and Marlene Hertz of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two nephews, Jim Wright of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Clifford Wright of Rhode Island; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Her parents, Marion and Grace Wright; her husband, Henry Lyle; two sisters, Cleta Perry and Vera Wright; three brothers, Miner Wright, Albert Wright, and Robert Wright; and one nephew, Richard Wright, preceded her in death. | LEWIS Patsy Carolyn Lewis, age 75, of Fort Worth and formerly of Altus, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Patsy was born on May 24, 1932, in Friendship, Oklahoma to Roy and Ollie (Thompson) Brake. At an early age she moved to Altus and later married Alfred Thomas Lewis Jr., at Pampa, Texas in 1948. Patsy and her family lived in many places while her husband worked in the oil field business. After Tommy retired they moved to the Quartz Mountain area where they lived until his death. A short time later, Patsy moved to the Fort Worth, Texas area to be near her children. Patsy loved spending time with her family, doing church work and serving others. She even made a mission trip to China with some of her friends to help others. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Wade Brake; two sisters, Twana Thomason and Clois Walker, she is survived by three children, Debbi Heidenreich and husband Richie of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mike Lewis of Royse City, Texas and Tim Lewis of Ft. | Law Nelta (Kelley) Law, 74, of Altus, passed away at her home Saturday, March 15, 2008. Nelta was born April 23, 1933, to Clovis and Esther Mae (Lanning) Kelley in Olustee, Oklahoma, where she was raised. She attended school in Olustee from first through twelfth grade. After graduation, she attended Lippert Business School in Wichita Falls, Texas, and then went on to Wayland Baptist College. Her interest in business and computers was what she loved doing. She was employed as Association Executive Officer for the Altus Board of Realtors from 1983 to 2008. She was awarded many awards, but the highest honor that was bestowed upon her was by the Oklahoma Association of Realtors as a member of Omega Tare RHO Fraternity. She was a member of Altus Association of Realtors, Oklahoma Association of Realtors, and Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 4876. She loved to spend time with family, realtor friends, and traveling. In December of 1961, she married Carl Law and spent 40 years with him until his death in January 2002. Nelta is survived by three sons, Kevin Law and wife Roben of Altus, Robert Law and wife Sherry of Oklahoma City, and Mike Law of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Debbie Freeze and husband Gary of Altus; grandchildren, Kyle Law and wife Staci of Altus, Karissa Heron and husband Tom of Oklahoma City, Mellissa Law of Oklahoma City, Mica Peele and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Jordan Law of Oklahoma City, Brandi Law of Oklahoma City, Dustin Law of Oklahoma City, Ashly Kooken of Edmond, Holly Kooken of Altus, Justin Freeze, and Brandon Freeze, both of Altus; four great-grandchildren, Micheal Heron, Mason Law, Lucas Peele, and Sydney Heron; and all her Realtor friends. | Long Paul Edward Long, 78, of Altus, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Paul was born April 30, 1930, in Altus, Oklahoma. He grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School. He worked at the Delta and Plaza Theaters for five years while in junior high and high school. Paul married Evelyn Jo Howard July 3, 1951, in Altus. Ten days after their marriage, Paul left to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. When he came home from the service, he worked for Austin’s Men’s Wear in Altus for ten years. He then went to work for Jake Hodges in the County Clerk’s office as a clerk for one year and then was elected as County Clerk where he served for twenty-five years until his retirement. He was instrumental in starting the TV ministry at the First Baptist Church several years ago and continued working in the ministry until his death. Paul was a free-lance photographer in the local area for the Daily Oklahoman and all area TV stations. He was a member of the Altus Lion’s Club and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Altus. He served on the Board of Directors of the Museum of Western Prairie for a long time. Paul enjoyed “music night” in Warren and loved to give to others. His favorite saying was “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.” Paul is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, of the home in Altus; one daughter, Shearl Jean Davis and husband Charles Mikeal, also of Altus; two grandchildren, Crystal Nichole McDowell and husband Tyler of Blair, and Mickey Wade Davis of Altus; one great-grandson, Kanin McDowell of Blair, and two brothers-in-law, James Martin and George Hurt. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Fairy Voorhies Long Rippetoe and his step-father, Orville Rippetoe. | Kolby Dale Lankford Sept. 1, 1977 - March 10, 2009 Kolby Dale Lankford, 31, of Vacaville, California, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, in Truckee, California. Kolby was born on Sept. 1, 1977, in Elk City, Oklahoma, and raised with his sister, Crystal, and brother, Kris, by loving parents, Arnold and Donna Lankford. Kolby met the love of his life, Ashley Davis, while she was attending Oklahoma State University. Kolby and Ashley wed in a beautiful ceremony in Oklahoma City on Oct. 22, 2005. Kolby and Ashley moved to Ashley's hometown of Vacaville, California, in the summer of 2005. At the time of his passing, Kolby was employed by CHW in Sacramento as a sleep lab technician. Kolby and Ashley made their home in Vacaville and were anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. Kolby was an athletic individual whose passion for baseball began in childhood and continued his whole life. Kolby especially loved snowboarding and spent a lot of his time in Lake Tahoe enjoying the ambiance of the mountains, the lake, and the snow. Although born and raised in Oklahoma, Kolby often said that he had found his true home on the West Coast. Kolby lived life to the fullest. He was a quiet, deep thinking man, who though somewhat of a perfectionist, was loving and so very accepting of all others. Kolby valued health and fitness and lived his life accordingly. His posthumous donation of his young and healthy organs/tissues is estimated to save or otherwise benefit sixty individuals. Kolby is survived by his loving wife, Ashley, and unborn daughter, Claire of Vacaville, California; his parents Arnold and Donna Lankford of Elk City, Oklahoma; grandmother Elwanda McComas of Elk City; grandmother Wanda Lankford of Altus, Oklahoma; sister Crystal Bailey and husband Chuck of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother Kris Lankford and wife Megan of Yorkville, Illinois; nephew Burke Bailey; niece Brylee Bailey, unborn nephew Kayden Kolby Lankford; father and mother-in-law Greg and Kelly Alexander of Vacaville California; father and mother-in-law Allen and Susan Davis of Kettering, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Jack and August Alexander; grand parents-in-law Joseph and Shirley Foti; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, many friends, and his beloved cat, Annie. | Longoria Steven Reyna Longoria, 54, of Altus, passed away at his home Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Steven was born March 22, 1954, in Litchfield, Arizona, to Manuel and Dominga (Reyna) Longoria. He lived in Altus all his life and worked as a handy man for several different businesses in the Altus area. He also farmed for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Thompson and husband Ricky of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Maria Victoria Longoria and husband Jeremy Ingram, also of Elk City; his mother, Dominga Reyna of Altus; his brothers and sisters, Gloria Smart, Bertha Delgado, Cecilia Hensley, Elvida Bowen, Billy Longoria, Helen Longoria, Lucy R. Torres, Minga Graham, Robert Longoria, Johnny Frescas, and Ruben Frescas; six grandchildren, Candy Longoria, Emily Thompson, Laci Ingram, Lisa Ingram, Lori Ingram, and Lindsay Ingram, all of Elk City, and many nieces and nephews. | LEDERER Robert (Bob) Lederer, 69, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Bob was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on December 14, 1939, to Arthur and Marion (Jones) Lederer. During his childhood days, Bob was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle in 1954. He enlisted in the Army Reserve at the age of 17 years while he was a junior in high school. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1958. On May 2, 1970, he married Judene Flanders in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, in 1972 and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University in 1975. He was employed by Legal Aid from 1975 to 1998. Bob was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, U.S. Court of Appeals 10th circuit, and the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Bob was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Altus, OK, Madison, Wisconsin, Masonic Lodge #5, Guthrie Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity, Jackson County Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Bar Association. He was a life member of the Reserve Officers Association, a life member of VFW, and a perpetual member of Altus, Oklahoma, Masonic Lodge #62. He served his country in Korea, Germany, and two tours of duty in Vietnam, all as an infantryman. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 27 years of honored service. Some of his many awards included: Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. Since his retirement in 1998, Bob and Judene have traveled in their motor home throughout the United States and Canada visiting friends and family. They are members of the SMART (Special Military Active Retired Travel Club) and Good Sams travel groups. They have enjoyed meeting with old and new friends on their many trips. Bob also enjoyed fishing, hunting, snow skiing, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Preceded in death by his parents, Bob is survived by his wife Judene; their daughter Kristen Duerson and husband Mike and their sons Kyler and Jared of Altus, Oklahoma; their son David Lederer and wife Melissa and their daughters Meghan and Emily of Langley AFB, Newport News, VA; his friend for 57 years, Dave Nimmer of Woodbury, Minnesota; and mother-in-law Millie Flanders of Carlsbad, New Mexico. · Visitation - The family will greet friends at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus on Sunday, May 31, 2009, from 2 pm to 4 pm. · Memorial - The funeral service will be held at on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 2 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus. On a later day, Bob will be laid to rest at the Ledgeview Memorial Cemetery in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Memorials may be designated to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1901 Falcon Rd, Altus, OK.
