James Louis “Jimmy” Brown


      James Louis “Jimmy” Brown, 63, of Altus, passed away Monday,
January 11, 2010, at the English Village Nursing Home in Altus.
      Jimmy was born January 24, 1946, in Altus to Paul (Pat) and Mary Lee
(Sprabary) Brown.  He attended school in Altus and later attended college
where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.  He had many hobbies including
playing the piano and guitar.  He was a talented musician who played by ear.  
He loved working on cars and was very active in pursuing a business in
physical fitness and bodybuilding.  Jimmy was very careful with his health
and put his interests in Holistic Medicine.  His greatest love and
accomplishments were working with his hands. He made custom
woodworking his life’s work for many years.
Preceded in death by his father, Coach Paul (Pat) Brown, Alison Bradshaw
Brown, the mother of son James Robert (Jim Bob) Brown, and a nephew
Justin Paul Steadham, Jimmy is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Brown;
son, James Robert (Jim Bob) Brown; Suzann Hart, the mother of daughter
Shana Lee Brown and son Branden James Brown; his siblings, Sandra Brown
Rice, Pamela Parsons, Tommy D. Brown, Rose Ann Brown, and Dixie Rae
Shope; grandchildren, Sidney Brown and Arthur James Brown; John and
Linda Fagan, father-in-law and mother-in-law of James Robert (Jim Bob)
Brown; nephews and nieces, Dusty Tate, Rusty Schertler, Eddie Paul Brown
(Peyton), Candice Carney, Lazel Fisher Jr., Jacquelyne Brown, and Tanner
Taylor. He is also survived by special family friends, Karen Kivi, David Cox,
Kathy and Nina Silva and Shirley Mandrell, and many great nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles, and cousins.
      
The family will greet friends Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Lowell-Tims
Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2010, at
Lowell-Tims Chapel with Jim Shope, brother-in-law of Jimmy Brown, and
Doug Brown, cousin of Jimmy.  Services are entrusted to Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.
