Jimmy Lee “Cowboy” Sampler
Jimmy Lee “Cowboy” Sampler, 68, named for his grandfather Edward Lee
Sampler, was the first born son of W.H. and Iris Sampler. He was born Oct.
3, 1941, and died March 3, 2010, at the Plantation Village Nursing Home of
heart failure.

Cowboy was a lifetime resident of Jackson County, and was the security
guard at The Towers prior to his illness. He was also employed for a number
of years at the Altus Cab Company. Jimmy was a hay hauler, truck driver,
Wild West Show performer, horse trainer, and artist model and story teller.

Jimmy is survived by his brothers, Ray of Quitaque, Texas, Richard of San
Marcos, Texas, George of Altus, and Danny of Levon, Main; sister, Dana of
Bedford, Texas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
great-nephews, and many friends, especially at his residence, The Towers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, James Ray Sampler; and
sister-in-law, Lynn Sampler.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Martha Road Baptist Church,
20388 E. County Rd. 158 with a gathering immediately afterwards at The
Towers, 101 E. Commerce St.

Inurnment will be at a later date.
