Coping with Grief
Larry Benedict passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home near
Blair.  He was born January 24, 1956 in Altus to Hoyt and Polly
Benedict.  After graduating from Altus High School in 1974, Larry
attended Western Oklahoma State College and Oklahoma State
University.  He married Tracie Kastner Graham on July 2, 1998 and the
two of them established their home near Blair.

Larry retired from the Altus Fire Department in 2003 following a twenty
year career.  After his retirement he owned and operated Benedict Car
Sales.  Larry enjoyed attending church and traveling with his wife.

An avid supporter of The Twelve Step Program, Larry was extremely
proud of the fact that he had been sober since 1988.  He was enthusiastic
in sharing his story and his faith with others who were battling addictions.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Benedict.  He is survived
by his wife, Tracie; three children Vanessa Cole, Emily Cole, and Trey
Graham all of Edmond.  His mother Polly Benedict of Altus; Sister Lori
and her husband Jim Plaut of Winter Garden Florida, a niece Sarah Plaut
and nephews James Plaut and Ethan Plaut, In-Laws Craig and Ellen
Kastner of Altus; and a host of friends.

Services are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at
Lowell-Tims Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.  Interment will be
follow in the Altus City Cemetery.  

The Family will receive guests from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at
Lowell-Tims Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church
Building Fund.
