Marvin Scott Beanland

     Marvin Scott Beanland, 90, of Altus, Oklahoma, was called home to be
with the Lord on June 5, 2010, at his home in Altus.
     Marvin was born southeast of Gould in Harmon County on March 8,
1920, to Curtis Mitchell Beanland and Susie Pearl (Scott) Beanland. He
moved to Jackson County in 1925 and went to school in Victory, Oklahoma.
     Marvin married Arleta J. Setliff on December 21, 1941, and went into
the Air Force in 1942 where he served in England, France, Belgium, and
Germany. He was discharged in October of 1945. He worked for Scotty’s
dusting and Flying Service for 38 years and after retiring from there, Marvin
went to work for Wilmes Super Store for 10 years. He retired with them at
the age of 80.
     He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Arleta Beanland, in 1993,
his parents, and an infant daughter, Marian Jennette.
     Marvin leaves to cherish his memory a son, Marvin Dale Beanland and
wife Rose, of Santa Fe, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Horrell, of Altus,
Oklahoma; a sister, Ruby Mae Bullard, of Elk City, Oklahoma; six
grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren,
and numerous family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, at
Lowell-Tims Chapel with Reverend James Morgan officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in
Altus.
