David Michael “Mike” Turkaly
David Michael “Mike” Turkaly, 64, of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away
Monday, June 21, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
   Mike was born March 21, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Paul Turkaly and
Delores (Delewski) Turkaly.  He joined the United States Air Force where he
served his Country for 23 years before retiring at Altus Air Force Base.  He
married his wife Maled Tomeltree on July 15, 1974, in Urdon, Thailand.
   He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the Altus Lions
Club and the Knights of Columbus.  He was an avid Ohio Buckeye fan.  He
loved to watch all sports but especially enjoyed baseball and golf.  Mike was a
devoted “family man” and attended as many of his grandchildren’s activities as
possible.  His dogs also held a special place in his heart.
   Mike was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Paul, and by a
nephew, Aaron.
   He is lovingly survived by his wife, Kay of the home in Blair; his mother,
Delores Turkaly of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Christine Davenport
and her husband, Kevin of Altus and Michelle Richardson and her husband,
Brent of Blair; one sister, Patricia and husband Frank Frimel of Las Vegas,
Nevada; one brother, Robert Turkaly and wife Michelle of Flag Staff, Arizona;
five grandchildren, Christopher Davenport, Chelsea Davenport, Sarah
Richardson, Briana Richardson and Keira Richardson; and by one nephew,
Thou Sukapoom; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at Lowell-Tims Chapel Wednesday, June 23,
from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass for Mike Turkaly will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24,
2010, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus followed by Military
Honors.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
