

| Services for Roland G. “Roe” Moore will be in the First Baptist Church in Duke, OK at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 26, 2010 with Rev. Scott Gramling officiating. A private committal service will be in the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Roe was born August 7, 1908 to Lee Vi and Ora (Thompson) Moore on the family homestead west of Duke. He passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the age of 101. He was the 4th of 5 siblings, Horace, Tommy, Roy and sister, Pearl Hatter. He was the last surviving member of his family. He lived his entire life in and around Duke where he farmed and raised cattle. Roe was married to Fannie Lora (Wright) Moore in September of 1926. To this union was born one son, Eddie Lee Moore. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fannie; a daughter-in-law, Coleen Moore and grandson, David Moore. He married Sharon Breeding August 27, 1991 and she survives him. Other survivors include, his son, Eddie L. Moore of Elk City, OK; granddaughter Nancy Ann Moore of Elk City; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Ramsey and husband Carl of Cordell, OK, Danny L. Moore and Melissa Ann Sharum of Elk City; and Misty Sharum of Oklahoma City; two great-great-grandsons, Noal Ramsy and Dason Ramsey of Cordell; three great-great-granddaughters, Joshalynn Dobbs of Elk City and Kylie Ramsey and Chasity Ramsey both of Cordell; one step-son, Mark Breeding of Altus; a step-granddaughter, Karson Breeding of Weatherford, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. While living in Duke, he served on the City Council aa well as serving as Mayor for sometime. He was very interested in the Fire Department and was a Volunteer Fireman for many years. He was very active in bringing soft water to Duke. He was an early supporter of bringing Republic Gypsum to Duke. The first rock used in the plant came from his farm south of town. For pastimes, he enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers with the fellows down town. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Duke and will be deeply missed by the many who knew him.
