Sheridan Nicole Bautista, eight year old
daughter of Jim and Melinda Bautista of
Altus, flew into the arms of Jesus Christ on
Thursday, December 8, 2011 at OU Children’
s Hospital in Oklahoma City. Sheridan’s
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2
p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at First
Baptist Church of Altus with Pastor Jeff
Moore officiating. The Bautista family will
host a visitation from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Sheridan was born on September 16, 2003 in
Altus, Oklahoma. She was diagnosed with
osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, on
March 9, 2011. She was a second grader at
Navajo Elementary School. She was a dance
student at Off the Wall Productions, and she
loved her dance teacher Miss Leah very
much. Sheridan was always dancing and
singing where ever she went. When she was
not at the dance studio, she was on the
softball field with her Navajo teammates.
She also enjoyed playing with her dogs
Minnie and Mia. Sheridan would spend her
Wednesday evenings at First Baptist with
her fellow G.A.s (Girls in Action). She loved
the Lord with her whole heart, and knew
what it meant to be saved.
The biggest impact on lives still continues
with family and friends. Her presence will
live on through them from now on. Her family
will honor her life and the way she lived it
through their lives. Those who had the
honor of meeting Sheridan are better people
because of her.
The measure of life cannot be judged on
time. It can only be measured by the quality
of the life one lives and the light one’s life
projects onto others. With that, Sheridan
led an amazing and productive life. She will
be missed, but never forgotten by all who
knew and loved her.
She is survived by her parents, Jim and
Melinda Bautista, of Altus; her two sisters,
Sophia Monreal and husband, Michael, and
their child Mikey, of San Antonio, Texas,
and Stephanie Bautista and her fiancé,
Corbin Wimer of Norman, Oklahoma; her
two brothers, Steven Bautista and Skylar
Bautista of Altus, Oklahoma; her
Grandparents, Gilbert and Maria Montes of
Midland, Texas and Javier and Mary Ellen of
San Antonio, Texas; her Uncle Gilbert and
Aunt Julie Montes, and their children
Ashlee, Georgia, Isaac, and Gracie of
Abilene, Texas; and her Uncle Henry and
Aunt Laura Galindo, and their children
Alexandria and Adison of  San Antonio,
Texas.
Preceding her in death and welcoming her
into Heaven are her Great Grandmothers,
Savina Torrez , Cirenia Montes, Petra Salas,
and Celestina Bautista; Great Grandfathers,
Eloy Torrez, Fermin Montes, Ladislado
Salas, and Vincente Bautista; Great Uncle,
Rufino Sanchez; and Great Aunts, Dolores M.
Davis and Diana Sanchez.
The Bautista Family would like to extend
their appreciation to the Altus and Navajo
communities for all of their love, prayers,
and support for our sweet Sheridan
throughout this difficult journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
can be given to the CureSearch for Children’
s Cancer, 14850 Quorum Drive, Suite 145,
