Sherry Teigen
Betty S. "Sherry" Teigen, 66, of Incline Village, Nevada, formerly of
Altus, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at OU Medical Center,
Presbyterian Tower, in Oklahoma City after a long illness.

Sherry was born April 14, 1945, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Harrold and
Betty (Davis) Hudson.  She was later adopted by her stepfather,
Charles Caswell.  She graduated N.W. Classen High School in
Oklahoma City in 1963.   Sherry was a beautiful and talented woman
and won the title of Miss Oklahoma City in 1963.  In high school,
Sherry was active in competitive speech and drama, winning
numerous contests and was one of 5 students in the state of
Oklahoma chosen to spend a semester at Northwestern University in
Illinois studying speech.  She attended Central State University in
Edmond, Oklahoma, then earned her Bachelor's Degree in
Education from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, on May
16, 1978.  Upon graduation, Sherry taught high school English,
World History, Business, and Speech and Drama in Jackson and
Tillman Counties.  Before she retired, Sherry spent thirteen years
working with her husband Roger at OK-1 Manufacturing Company,
where she developed the international export division.

Sherry married Roger Teigen May 28, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada,
and he was the love of her life.  Her hobbies included photography,
and she was an award winning amateur photographer.  She was
recognized for her exceptional photos of African wild game.  Sherry
and Roger traveled the world extensively, including several African
Safaris, European tours, and an Antarctica cruise, as well as
throughout the United States.  She was proud to call both Oklahoma
and Nevada her home.  Sherry was a philanthropist who supported
education, as well as other worthy causes.  Sherry was an avid OU
football fan, never missing an OU game if she could help it.  She and
Roger maintained a home in Norman, Oklahoma, where they resided
each year during OU football season to support her beloved
Sooners.  Sherry attended her last OU/Texas  game in October
2011 while battling the cancer that eventually took her life.  She
enjoyed spending time with Belle, her beloved poodle of 14 years.

Preceded in death by her mother, Betty Caswell, and her father,
Charles Caswell, Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Roger
Teigen; one son, Jerry Blane George and wife Sandy of Altus,
Oklahoma; four sisters, Melinda Alexander of Albuquerque, New
Mexico, Vera Courtney and husband Glen Alexander of Norman,
Oklahoma, Charlene Naylor of Oklahoma City, and Mary Scott, also
of Oklahoma City; one brother, Charles Caswell and wife Robyn of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Bill Teigen and wife Diane of
Dallas, Texas, and Jim Teigen and wife Libby of Abilene, Texas; and
the nieces and nephews whom she adored:  Ian, Alyx, Summer,
Adam, Samantha, Jason, Heather, Paul Allen, Taylor, and Caitlin,
Leslie Flabianio, Lt. Col. Michael E. Teigen, and Alexis C. Teigen.

The family will greet friends Monday, January 30, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012,
at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Reverend David Player
officiating.  Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
