Tommie Dewey Donnell Jr
Tommie Dewey Donnell Jr. was born December 25, 1926 to Tommie Donnell Sr. and
Geneva Williams Donnell in Point, Texas.  He moved to Altus, Oklahoma where he resided
for over 50 years.  In January, 1958 he married Emma Henderson and to this union brought
daughters Ella and Linda.  Tommie was known for his caring heart.  He was always willing
to help his family and community.  In 1992 he was named father of the year by the City of
Altus Community Fellowship of Churches.  In Altus he worked for 38 years at the City of
Altus Sanitation Department.  In 1989 he was named Sanitation Department Employee of
the year.  He retired from his job after 38 years in 1992, to spend more time with his
grandchildren and family.  In 2003 after the loss of his wife of 45 years, he moved to
Arkansas and became active in the St. James Baptist Church Seniors Guild and Men's
Sunday School Class.


    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Freddie; one sister,
Jessie Prince Hill; a daughter, Linda and wife Emma.  He leaves to cherish his memory one
brother, Arthur Hardrick of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Judy Vann and husband
Richard of Tulsa, LaQuita Jenkins and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City, Ella Lambey of
Fayetteville, Arkansas; 11 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great
Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


   Services, under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers,
Arkansas are set for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. James Baptist Church
in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Interment will follow on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the Altus City
Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.  The family will receive guests at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
of Altus on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
