

Charles Nelson Cooley, 68, of Altus, passé away Friday, June 4, 2010, at his hone with his family by his side. He fought a long courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born April 16, 1942, to James and Edna (Wolford) Cooley in Talihina, Oklahoma. He attended school in Hollis, Oklahoma. He married Betty (Austin) Campfield July 27, 1983, in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death September 11, 2008. His great love in life was animals. He raised Yorkies and had four at the time of his death. He also was known for feeding all the cats in the neighborhood. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Cooley, his wife Betty, one brother, Kenneth, and two sisters, Maurine and Zona, Charles is survived by three brothers, Jerry Cooley of Altus, Preston Cooley and wife Bertha of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Vernon Cooley and wife Cindy of Altus, and two sisters, Fran Law and husband Mike of Morro Bay, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside services for Charles Cooley will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the Altus City Cemetery with Reverend David Stewart officiating.
