Ella “Dale” Willis, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, February 13, 2010, at English Village Manor Nursing
Home in Altus.
Born in Altus, Oklahoma, on January 15, 1918, to Sidney
Crockett Duke and wife Allie, Dale attended Altus Public Schools.  
She enjoyed singing and playing piano.  She married Maurice L.
Willis on October 7, 1934, and helped him run the family business,
the Central Pharmacy.  She was a 50-year member of the Order
of the Eastern Star.  She volunteered as a precinct worker during
elections and enjoyed playing bridge and gardening.
She is survived by her two children, Marsha Dale (Willis) Ellis and
husband Harry Ellis of Honolulu, Hawaii, and son, Sidney Michael
Willis and wife Carol Willis of Altus and Edmond, Oklahoma;
grandson Joshua Eric Ellis and wife Lauri Ann of Seattle,
Washington; great-grandson Matthew David Ellis of Seattle,
Washington; sister-in-law Mildred “Chick” Mitchell of Eldorado,
Oklahoma; and nephews Jerry Mitchell of Quanah, Texas, and
Danny Mitchell of Wheeler, Texas.
Dale was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Willis, to
whom she was married for 55 years.


A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 19, 2010, at 10:
00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Altus.  Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
