



Kathleen “Kathy” Hartless passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the English Village Manor Nursing Home in Altus at the age of 81. Kathy was born October 10, 1928, to Marvin and Bertie (Holliday) Biddy. She was raised by Gabe and Leona McDoniel. Kathy married Bobby Jack DeShong on September 28, 1946, in Warren, Oklahoma, and to this union two children, Diane and Suzi, were born. After the death of her husband, Jack, Kathy married Rowe Gene Hartless on November 20, 1970, in Vernon, Texas. She was a graduate of Warren High School where she was an All State basketball player. She loved to play the game with her grandchildren. She also loved sports, especially OU football. She was a very dedicated Democrat. Kathy was a member of the Jackson County Democrat Women. She loved to play cards, chicken foot, and have company over to share the local Blair talk. Preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Bertie Biddy and Gabe and Leona McDoniel; her husbands, Jack DeShong in 1977 and Rowe Gene Hartless in 1990; one daughter, Suzi Campbell on April 22, 2009, one brother, Orville Lewis Biddy; and one sister, Opal Greggory, Kathy is survived by one daughter, Diane Landers and husband James of Altus; one son-in-law, Patrick Campbell of Blair; one brother Argyle Lee Biddy; one sister, Arthela Starwalt; her grandchildren, Tanya Croft, Barry and Amy Holt, all of Altus, and Cort and Holly Campbell of Blair; her great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lane, and Lance Holt, Kyli and Konner Croft, all of Altus, and Chloe and Cole Campbell of Blair. Many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends also survive her. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 6, 2010, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Blair Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma, with Jim Shoppe officiating. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
