Voretta Faye "Rita" Martin, 73, of Altus, passed away
peacefully on January 1, 2012, at Integris Hospice House in
Oklahoma City.

Rita was born May 5, 1938, in Coffeeville, Kansas, to Johnnie
Fain and Vivian Ethel (Moon) Wertman.  Her family moved to
Gould, Oklahoma, where she grew up.  Then, she met the love
of her life, Luther "Rex" Martin, and they were married July
25, 1955, in New Mexico.  After they were married, they
traveled all over the world.  During their travels, they had
three children, Shirley, Terry, and LaDonna.

Rita worked at Brewer's Auto in Altus as an auto parts clerk
for over twenty years.  She loved to crochet, paint, spending
time with her family and friends, and going to Bluegrass
Festivals with Rex.  Rita loved taking photos of all her friends
at singing festivals.  She loved to cook and enjoyed her special
hobby of family genealogy.  Rita was a member of the Olustee
Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex Martin on  
August 28, 2009,  and brother, Bobby Joe Wertman, Rita is
survived by her three loving children, son, Terry Ray Martin
and wife Donna of Mesa, Arizona, daughter, Shirley Hudson of
Oklahoma City, and daughter LaDonna Robertson and husband
Troy of Altus; seven grandchildren, T.J. Martin and wife
Amanda, Christina Flynn and husband Zack, Kelly Martin,
Crystal Card, Jason Card and wife Allison, Ra'Chael Kelley
and husband Nathan, and Chadd Card; nine
great-grand-children, Jason Card, Jr., Lillian Card, Dakota
Card, Dixie Card, Alexis Card, Brooklynn Kelley, Landon
Kelley, Jada Martin, and Caden Flynn; and her sister-in-law,
Phyllis Wertman of Blair, Oklahoma  She is also survived by
many other relatives and friends and will be missed by all who
knew and loved her.

The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, January 4 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday,
January 5, 2012, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus.  Interment
will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
