Freddy Alcorta, Sr., age 65 of Altus, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Freddy was born in Pleasanton, Texas on May 12, 1952 to his parents Jose Maria Alcorta, Sr. and Betty (Pierda) Alcorta. On March 22, 1971 Freddy married Lydia Garcia in Altus and they have been married for over 46 years. Freddy has been a long-time resident of Altus and worked as manager and operator of Gregg’s Car Wash and later as owner/operator of Alcorta’s Car Wash for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, working on cars as a mechanic, and he was an avid Elvis fan. Freddy loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with them and especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Freddy is survived by his wife, Lydia Alcorta of the home; two sons, Freddy Alcorta, Jr. and wife Felice of Enid; and Ray Lee Alcorta of Altus; one daughter, Kristy Alcorta Overman and husband Titus of Altus; nine brothers, Joe Alcorta and wife Bebe of Altus; Rey Alcorta and wife Yolanda of Texas; Pete Alcorta and wife Linda of Texas; Danny Alcorta and wife Melinda of Altus; Paul Alcorta of Altus; Robert Alcorta of California; Johnny Alcorta and wife Audrey of Elk City; Ricky Alcorta of Cheyenne; and Michael Alcorta of Altus; one sister, Maggie Rodriguez and husband Mike of Altus; eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Brandon, Leandra, Symon, Matteo, Donovan, Riley Nora, and Ava Grace; four great grandchildren, Sunnie, Hazel, Manuel, III, and Asher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Rosary services will be at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral Mass services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
