PATRISHA RENAE DAUGHERTY

Patrisha Renae Daugherty, age 55, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital.  Patricia was born December 1, 1948, at Hollis Oklahoma to Sam and Ora Mae (Johnson) Hopkins.

On November 9, 1985, Patrisha married Thomas Wayne Daugherty at the First Assembly of God Church in Altus.  
Patrisha was a homemaker and was very active with her church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God, where she
participated in the missionary’s and women’s ministries.  

Patrisha was preceded in death by her grandparents and a very special cousin, Jackie Hubbard.  She is survived by
her husband, Tom of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; mother, Ora Mae Hopkins of Altus, Oklahoma; two daughters,
Sheila Ann Culbertson and husband Jeff of Windsor, Missouri and Tiara Taylor and husband Eugene Brown of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and two grandsons; Jeff Culbertson and Taylor Scott Culbertson of Windsor, Missouri.  

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 2, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with
Reverend John Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home.  

Family will greet friends Wednesday evening, December 1, 2004 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.  
Horace William Dark

Horace William Dark, age 92 of Altus, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2003 at English Village Manor in Altus.  
Services are set for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev.
Kevin George will officiate and interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
Horace was born to W.A. and Lela Dark on February 6, 1911 at Hennypen, Oklahoma, in Garvin County.  He was
united in marriage to Opal Blanscet on December 31, 1933 at Hobart, Oklahoma.  He farmed for many years north of
Hobart.  Horace also did some building and selling of real estate in the Hobart area.  For several years, Horace and
Opal lived in Oklahoma City, but after retirement moved to Altus.  He was affiliated with the Baptist Faith for many
years.  Horace was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one son, Jerry. He is survived by
his devoted wife, Opal of 69 years, two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Bowen and Dwane of Altus; Cleda
Strehlow and Louis of Alba, Texas; three brothers, Howard of Oklahoma City, Orbie of Hobart, Lloyd of Ft. Worth,
Texas; seven grandsons; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson and many other relatives and friends
Wanda L. Davison

Wanda L. Davison, age 68 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.  
She was born November 4, 1935 in Woonsocket, South Dakota to Andy Anderson and Bertha(Tipton)Anderson.
Wanda was a previous member of the Eastern Star of the Altus Chapter.  She enjoyed bowling, loved to travel and
go camping.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.  Wanda attended the Methodist church.
She is lovingly survived by her husband William Davison of the home in Altus, Oklahoma, her mother, Bertha Jones
of Altus, Oklahoma.  two sons, William C. Davison and wife Iris of Altus, Oklahoma, Wayne Davison and wife
Chong Suk Davison of Huntsville, Alabama.  Wanda is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Vauhn and husband
Waylan of South Dakota, Ruby Patterson of San Antonio, Texas, one brother Leroy Jones of California, one
grandson, Benjamin Davison of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her father and one grandson, Jimmie Davison.
Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral

Katy Floriene Dehtan

Katy Floriene (Bonds) Dehtan was ushered into the presence of her loving Savior on March 16, 2004.  She was born
April 20, 1926 to James F. and Rachel Bonds at Duke, Oklahoma.
She is survived by two sisters Mamie Myers and Georgia Baker of Dallas, Texas; three step-sons, Jackie, Donnie, and
Mike Dehtan; several step-grandchildren; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
She grew up in Duke, and graduated from Duke High School with the Class of 1944.  She moved to Dallas, Texas in
1951 and worked for Republic National Life Insurance Company.  She moved back to Duke in the late fifties where
she met and married Erron Dehtan on October 5, 1962.  She later moved back to Dallas and worked again for
Republic National Life until her retirement.  She was residing at Rockwall Nursing Center at the time of her death,
where she was a favorite with the staff.
Floriene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one stepson.
She was a member of Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas, and was always a care giver to her family.
The family wishes to thank the Rockwall Nursing Center for their loving care for her.
Graveside services were held at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Duke, Oklahoma, at 1:30 pm, Friday, March 19, 2004 with
Rev. Marty Barnes officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus,
Oklahoma.
Ila Juanita Dempsey

Ila Juanita Dempsey, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.  
Funeral services will be Monday, September 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Blair, with Rev. Mike
Holden officiating.  Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery, East of Blair.  Arrangements are under the direction
of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dempsey was born on December 4, 1913 in Latish, Oklahoma to Henry Lee (Jack) Dean and Myrtle Lillian
(Trammell) Dean.  

On December 16, 1931, Juanita married Clifton Dempsey in Altus, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on
September 16, 2002.  She was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family and church family.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Raymond Dean, Floyd R. Dean, Covall Dean;
five sisters, Daisy O’dell, Florence Bennett, Julia Brown, Opal McKinney and Cleo Boling.  

Juanita is lovingly survived by her daughter Edith Cantrell and husband James (Jim) of Bethany, Oklahoma; one
brother, Coy Dean and wife JoAnn of Vernon, Texas; one sister, Leola Lance of Houston, Texas; two grandsons,
James Randall Cantrell and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Richard (Rick) Dean and wife Cyndi of
Poetry, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Cantrell, Lauren Cantrell, Austin Cantrell, Rachel Marie Cantrell and
James Jonathan (J.J.) Cantrell, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lashawn Dennis, Infant Boy, passed away Monday, February 16, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.  
Lashawn was born December 22, 2003 in Oklahoma City.
He is loving survived by; his parents Kevin Lee Dennis and Roshell Denice Hendricks of Altus, Oklahoma, 2 sisters;
Sharial and Aaliyah Hendricks of Altus, Oklahoma, one brother Kevin L Jasper of Elk City, Oklahoma, Grandmother,
Wanda Hendricks, Altus, Oklahoma, Grandfather, Jerry Joe Crawford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one Aunt Shannon and
William Powell, of Altus, Oklahoma, one Uncle, William Hendricks of Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Johnny and Mary Dennis Sr. and one Aunt Connie Hendricks.
Services have been scheduled for Friday, 10:00am February 20, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Chapel.  Interment at the Altus

Janie Bell Drury

Janie Bell (Dickerson) Drury age 86, of Olustee, passed away on December 13, 2004 in Altus, Oklahoma, Graveside
services will be conducted at Boggy Cemetery, South of Olustee, Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 2:00 pm Under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Drury was born January 22, 1918 to the late George and Leola (Robertson) Dickerson in Strewder (north of
Gould) in Harmon County and attended school in McQueen.
Janie was a homemaker, she loved to sew but her passion was cooking, she cooked professionally for the Olustee
Public School System, Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Furrs Cafeteria.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband Jasper Blane Drury, September 25, 2000, two daughters Peggy Ann
Holly, April 21, 2003, Callie Studer, October 5, 2003, eight brothers: Claude, Pete, Zearl, Harris, Jesse, Bennie,
George, Archie and three sister; Edna, Mary and Artie.
She is survived by two sons; Homer Cloyce Johnson of Wichita Falls, Texas, Blane Don and Laura Drury of Iowa
Park, Texas and three daughters; Cecile Hogue and Bobby of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hope Meyer and Mike of Sulphur,
Oklahoma, Elaine Prater and Charles of Edmond, Oklahoma, fourteen grand children and fifteen great grand children,
one sister, Inez Neely of Altus, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Janie was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Funeral

Jerry Keith Duke, Sr


Jerry Keith Duke, Sr., age 59, formerly of Altus, passed away Monday, August 25 at his home in Oklahoma City.

Jerry was born June 11, 1944, in Altus to Johnnie and Pearlenne (Neel) Duke.  He married Kay Cowart February 19,
1971, in Altus.  He was a diesel mechanic for over twenty years at the Ready Mix Concrete in Dallas, Texas.  He also
worked for Southwest Metal in Altus for eighteen years.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kay Duke, of Oklahoma City; his mother, Pearlenne Duke, of Blair, Oklahoma; three
children, Jerry Duke, Jr. and his wife Susan of Granbury, Texas, Kimberly McElhany and her husband Dan of
Crockett, Texas, and Jeff Duke and his wife Toni of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Johnny Duke, Jr., Darrell Duke,
and David Duke, all of Blair; one sister, Iola Earlenne Duke, also of Blair; five grandchildren, Jacob Duke and Emily
Duke, both of Granbury, Texas, Zachery McElhany, Jarvis McElhany, and Christina McElhany, all of Crockett, Texas.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Duke, Sr., one brother, Kenneth Barnes, and one sister, Mary
Katherine Duke.

Elizabeth Rebecca Duck


Elizabeth Rebecca Duck, 77, of Altus, passed away Friday, November 14, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in
Altus.


Becky was born November 13, 1926, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to John Franklin and Alma May (Stearman) Owen.
Her family moved to the Roff Community near Ada in the early 1930’s. She was the oldest of nine children. She
moved to the Ozark Community in Jackson County in 1943 where she met and married Wilbur Bud Duck. She and
her husband opened a gas station and grocery store east of Altus in 1952 which became known in later years as Duck’
s Corner. She was also involved in farming for over 30 years. Becky was an active member of the Ozark Home
Demonstration Club for many years. She was also a charter member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus.


Becky is survived by two sons, Jerry Duck and his wife Mary of Altus, and Lonnie Duck of Iowa Park, Texas; two
sisters, Janice Clinton and her husband Larry, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Rose Gross of Amarillo, TX; four
grandchildren, Peggy Clay of Altus, Jerry Wayne Duck of Oklahoma City, Toby Duck of Oxnard, California, and
Mai Wilson of Sherman, Texas, and 2 great-grandchildren.


Becky was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud Duck in 1977, five brothers, Ralph Owen, Johnny
Owen, Howard Owen, Leroy Owen, and Harold Owen, and one sister, Opal.
JAMES DUNCAN

James William Duncan, age 85 of Lawton and formerly of Altus, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at
Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Mr. Duncan was born October 31, 1919 at Paris, Texas to Neal and Allie Campbell Duncan.  James graduated
from Porter High School, south of Altus, and attended OU for three years before entering the U.S. Army.  After his
discharge, James entered the work force with the Civil Service Corps of Engineers.  After retiring from Civil Service,
James began a ten year period of work with The Benham Group of Engineers in Oklahoma City.

On March 17, 1945, James married Geraldine (Gerry) Martha Gilbranson in Madison, Wisconson and she
preceded him in death on June 15, 1992.

James enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Square Toppers and Square Dance Club where he served
as president of the Lawton, Oklahoma group.

Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, James Allen Duncan and one sister, Jo Gregg.

James is survived by two daughters; Earlene Hubert and husband Leroy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nancy
Flowers and husband Ronnie of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sons, Ronnie Duncan and wife Susi of Anthony, Kansas
and David Duncan of Dallas, Texas.  He is also survived by one aunt, Stella Duncan of Altus, Oklahoma, ten
grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held for James William Duncan on Sunday, December 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims
Chapel.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Helen E. Doan

Helen E. Doan, 83 passed away November 6, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born to Charles E. and Carline D Eckardt on May 31, 1921.
Helen graduated high school at Mays Landing High School in Mays Landing N.J. in 1939.
She married Ralph S Doan and to this union was born one son Charles H. Doan and one daughter Carol Lyn
Gaynon.
Helen enjoyed lunches at the senior meal site (old Wilson school), playing bingo, reading, traveling, watching old
movies and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Doan, and her parents.
Helen is loving survived by her son Charles Doan and wife Anastasia of Altus, Oklahoma, and daughter Carol Lyn
Gaynon and husband Art of Deerfield, Michigan and 5 grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 9:30 am at The Towers at 101 E.

Graveside service for Ty Matthew Dobbins have been scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Altus
City Cemetery with Rev. Randy Allen officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.  The family will receive guests from 6pm until 8pm, Wednesday, April 7th at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Ty was born March 21, 2004, to Jason Dobbins and Taneal Drake.  He left us too soon on April 5, 2004.  Although
he was only here for 2 short weeks, he will fill our hearts for a lifetime.  He was a strong little boy, with the fight of a
tiger.
He is survived by his parents, Jason and Taneal of the home; grandparents, Doug and Lydia Dobbins of Altus,

Julia J. McGinnis Dominguez

Julia Dominguez age 81, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Marina Nursing Home in Arlington, Texas.
She was born September 16, 1922 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to George Allen McGinnis and Lola Alice Cox.  She
was a graduate of Friendship School and lived in Altus for most of her life.  
She is survived by four daughter, Julia J. Cross of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bena Janet Harrison of Grand Prairie, Texas,
Nannette Glover of Graham, Texas, and Debra Rusk of Irving, Texas.  She had eight grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Sprugeon McGinnis, Hershel McGinnis and her sister
Aleen Gerrante.                                                            Graveside service will be at Altus City Cemetery,
Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 2:00 pm.  Under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Nina Genevieve Doud

Nina Genevieve Doud, age 83 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, March 1, 2004 in Altus.  She was born
May 22, 1920 in Hutchenson, Kansas to Curtis McKeeman and Juanita (Parker) McKeeman.
On July 23, 1943 in Norman,Oklahoma Genevieve and Niles Claude Doud were united in marriage.  He preceded
her in death May 14, 2003.  She had lived in Altus since August 2002 moving here from Portland, Oregon.  
Genevieve worked  for Volunteers of America as a administrative secretary for over thirty-five years before retiring.
After retirement she enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member
of the Southside Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one daughter, Kay Lorraine Roberson and husband Darrell of Altus, Oklahoma; two sons,
Merwin Doud and wife Beckie of Medford, Oregon, Joe Ray Doud and wife Cheryl of Portland, Oregon. She is
also survived by three granddaughters, six grandsons, seven great-granddaughters, one great-grandson; three
sister-in-laws, Dawn Manzer and Evelyn Overton of Lowville, New York, Beverly Evans of Rodchester, New York.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Nazarene Church in Portland,
Oregon.  Reception will follow after the service.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.        
Nona Dyas


Nona Dyas, age 93 of Altus, passed away December 16, 2003 at the English Village Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, are set for Monday, December 22,
2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Altus City Cemetery. The Rev. Bennie Alexander will officiate.

Nona was born May 5, 1910 at Houston, Texas. She was united in marriage to James Austin and they enjoyed many
years of marriage. In 1997 Nona moved to Altus, to be closer to family. Nona was a member of the Baptist
Denomination and enjoyed people. She also loved to clean and was an avid collector of dolls.

Nona was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin, her parents; one son, James Austin Sr. and one
grandson, James Austin Jr. She is survived by one son, of Huntsville, Texas; three grandchildren, Paula Kennedy of
Altus, Donna Scott of Oklahoma City, Marietta Josewki of Germany, twelve great grandchildren, thirteen great-great
grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
