| T.L. Ledbetter T.L. Ledbetter was born Jan. 14, 1927 at Globe, Tex. He was the son of the late Tom and Myrtle(Stapleton) Ledbetter. He died Dec. 13, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. T.L .married Sue Dennis, July 10, 1948 at Vernon, Texas. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was the Assistant Fire Chief with the Altus Fire Department when he retired. He later was a truck driver for Bates Brothers Trucking. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus and a member of the Discovery 1 Sunday School Class. Favorite pastimes included reading, fishing and spending time with friends over coffee and doughnuts. His greatest love was for his family. Survivors include Wife Sue Ledbetter Altus 1 Daughter Carol Loague & Stacy Altus 1 Son John Ledbetter & Karen Okla. City, Okla. | James Phinis Lee James Phinis Lee, 81, passed away June 22, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, June 24 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., June 25, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Phinis was born May 25, 1922 to Charles “Sam” Elsie Lee and Alpha Omega (Cox) Lee. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. During WWII, Phinis served his country in the Navy where he was wounded. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Phinis was lovingly called a ‘character’ who always had a funny story to tell. He was a tough man and hard on himself most of all, but he had a kind and generous heart and was known for helping others. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Desta Lee Hardwicke. He is survived by his daughters: Kathie Lee of Phoenix, Arizona and her son Erik, Shandra Tuggle, of Wichita Falls, Texas and her children, Shahna and Sejin, and Vicki McClain of Edmond, Oklahoma and her sons, Jason and Matthew and by his aunt and uncle, Grover and Martha Cox of Fort Worth, Texas. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. |

| Clifadale “Dale” Logan Clifadale “Dale” Logan, age 70 of Altus, passed away October 24, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral of Altus, are set for 10:00 A. M., Monday, October 27, 2003 at the Victory Cemetery. Dr. Jeff Moore will officiate. Viewing will be from 8:00 to 9:30 A.M. Monday morning, at the funeral home. Dale was born March 13, 1933 at Ryan, Oklahoma to parents Virgil and Carrie Ball Armstrong. She moved to the Altus area in 1982, from Chillicothe, Texas. Dale was united in marriage to Raymond Leroy Logan at Altus on December 17, 1982. Dale was self employed and worked many years as a caregiver and nurses aid. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus and enjoyed dominoes, volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in May of 1985; daughter, Diana Sue in 1965; her parents, and sister, Georgia Lee. Dale is survived by sisters, Margie and husband Floyd “Pat” Patterson of Petrolia, Texas, Lorene and husband Lloyd Mooney of Childress, Texas, Peggy Joe Ledbetter and husband Jack of Altus, Virgil Armstrong of Woodstock, Illinois, Richard Armstrong and wife Irmagard of El Paso, Texas and many nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. |

| Clarence “Ray” Raymond Long Jr. Clarence “Ray” Raymond Long Jr., age 64 Altus, Oklahoma, passed away December 11, 2003. Services will be held at a later date in Ada, Oklahoma, Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, is in charge of the arrangements. Ray was born April 12, 1939 at Ardmore, Oklahoma to parents Clarence Raymond Long Sr. and Georgia Brown Long. Ray was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a gifted carpenter. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A register book at the funeral home will be available to sign on Monday thru Wednesday, 8:00am to 5:00pm |

| FRANCISCA VALLEJO LOPEZ Francisca Vallejo Lopez, age 81, of Altus/Granite died at the Plantation Village Nursing Home Saturday morning. A Vigil Service is scheduled for Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. with the funeral mass said Tuesday at noon June 22nd at the Prince Of Peace Catholic Church officiated by Father Joseph Arledge. Burial will follow in the Granite Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Francisca was born June 16, 1923 at Iago, Texas and was the daughter of Vincente and Maria Delores Vallejo. On September 30, 1923 she was Baptized San Juana Francisca Vallejo into the Roman Catholic Church. She married Christino Martin Lopez October 31, 1942 at Burr in Wharton County, Texas. They moved to Altus from Corpus Christi, Texas in the early 50’s where they farmed. Later they moved to Granite in the 60’s. Christino died April 6, 1972. Francisca was a homemaker but found time to serve as a Teachers Assistant at the Granite Schools. She also was a fundraiser for Community Action in both Oklahoma and Illinois. She volunteered her time at the Community Center in Granite to serve breakfast to all the children of the community before attending school every morning. She also gave freely of her time to actively support many other organizations. Francisca loved to sing, work in the garden, and was dedicated to her family. Her husband, Christino Lopez preceded her in death as well as her parents: Vincente and Maria Delores Vallejo. One (1) son: Richard Lopez. One (1) daughter: Martha Garcia. Two (2) grandsons: Danny and Juan Hernandez. Survivors include: Two (2) sons: Chris Lopez and his wife Mary of Bettendorf, Iowa. Raymond Lopez and his wife Sue of Milan, Illinois. Six (6) daughters: Mary De La Rosa and her husband Joe of Canute, Oklahoma. Frances Ornelas and her husband Victor of Duke, Oklahoma. Josie Esparza of Blair, Oklahoma. RoseMary Rohr and her husband Tom of Plymouth, Indiana. Patricia Cummings and her husband Robert of Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. Maria Nevejas and her husband Abel of Canute, Oklahoma. One (1) brother: Pete Vallejo and his wife Pat of Houston, Texas. Three (3) sisters: Anita Rivera and her husband Valentine of Houston, Texas. Maria Salgado of Houston, Texas. Sandy Armendariz of Wharton, Texas. Also surviving are thirty-two (32) grandchildren, forty-nine (49) great grandchildren and eight (8) great-great grandchildren. |
