| Cecil Roy Walker Cecil Roy Walker, age 85, passed away Friday, November 5, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2004, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Sewell and Rev. Marty Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Cecil was born February 4, 1919 in Collinsville, Texas to James Samuel Walker and Daisy Mitchell Walker. He married Jaunita Powell in Hollis, Oklahoma on February 10, 1944. During World War II, Cecil served his country in the Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged while serving overseas. Cecil was a long time member of the Highland Heights Methodist Church, a member of the Methodist Men and also a member of the AFGE Local # 2586. Cecil retired in 1976, from the Civil Service as a supervisor with the heating and plumbing section at Altus Air Force Base. Cecil loved children and in his later years he spent hours in his chair, on the porch, with the neighborhood around him. He also had a love for Gospel and Country Music with fishing being his favorite sport. Cecil was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Jaunita, of sixty years, of their home in Altus; three sons, Keith Walker of Dallas, Texas, Joel Walker of Altus, Oklahoma and Glenn Walker and wife Becky of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Marie Bryant of Detroit, Texas, Naomi Fennel of Detroit, Texas and Betty Ramey of Ponca City, Oklahoma; special friends Ron Russell and wife Pam of Lawton, Oklahoma and Christy Wood of Tipton, Oklahoma along with a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom he loved and they loved him. | VERA WALKER Vera Durham Culwell Walker, age 93 of Eldorado, passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Vera was born July 27, 1911 at Eldorado, Oklahoma to William Nunn Durham and Thula Caroline Scoggins Durham. Mrs. Walker earned her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma and taught school for several years. Vera married J. Paul Culwell on February 22, 1939. After Mr. Culwell passed away on July 31, 1980, she married Adrain C. Walker in 1986 and he passed away on November 22, 1995. A loving mother and wife, Mrs. Walker was a member of the American Association of University Women. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Davenport and her husband Jim of Edmond, Oklahoma; one grandson, David Davenport; two granddaughters, Melinda Davenport and Paula Davenport; three nieces, Caroline Gore, Helen Wood, and Nancy Fry and a sister-in-law, Fanny May Durham. Funeral services for Vera Durham Culwell Walker will be Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado with Dr. Dean Goodfellow officiating. Interment will be at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Eldorado. | Alta Mae Wallace Alta Mae Wallace, age 77, of Altus passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 pm, Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Tom Reitmeier officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Alta Mae was born November 25, 1926, in Olustee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Thomas Marion and Ruby Webb Bush. She was a life long resident of Jackson County. On August 14, 1947, Alta Mae and Andy Wallace were united in marriage in Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1998. Alta Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus where she taught Sunday School for many years. Alta Mae retired from Altus Air Force Base where she served as the chief inspector for the Civil Engineering Squadron for many years. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Andy. She is lovingly survived by two daughters, Marilyn Wallace, Jeanie Duncan and husband Jimmy of Altus, Oklahoma; to sons, Cary Pat Wallace and wife Rhonda, Mike Wallace and wife Sharon of Blair, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kelby Wallace of Blair, Oklahoma, Jason Wallace, of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Lindsey Wallace of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Amy Jill and Jeff Hart of Vinson, Oklahoma, Denise and Sol Kramer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tracy Duncan of Altus, Oklahoma; two soon to be great-grandchildren Kylie Kramer and Baby Hart; one sister-in-law Georgan Reitmeier and husband Tom of Houston, Texas; two brothers-in-laws Gerald Wallace and wife Ann of Altus, Oklahoma and Glen Wallace and wife Ruth of Oklahoma City; along with a special friend, Lucille Pewett of Altus, Oklahoma. | Roy S. Warren, age 93 of Altus, passed away March 20, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, are set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Altus City Cemetery. Roy was born July 13, 1909 at Lone Oak, Texas to parents Walter and Mary Warren. He grew up in the Victory area, west of Altus, and was united in marriage to Sarah “Mozelle” Scroggins. They enjoyed sixty six happy years of marriage. Roy was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a gifted carpenter. He also enjoyed fishing. Roy is survived by his wife, Sarah “Mozelle” of the home; children, Barbara Darnell and husband Lou of Altus, Duane Warren and wife Marlene of Laguna Niguel, California, Glenda Warren of Altus, Steve Warren of Mangum, Oklahoma; sister, Vi Jackson of Altus; brothers, Bud Warren of Nevada, Woody Warren and Joe Warren, both of California; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. | Michael Don Watson Michael Don Watson was born Feb. 8, 1988 in Lawton, Okla. He died Aug. 24, 2003 in Altus. Michael attended and graduated from Sunset Elementary School and was a 9th grader at the Altus Junior High. While in school, Michael had been awarded the Steven Smades Award, and was a member of the National Junior High Honor Society. Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. | Zenobia Lee Bailey Weaver Zenobia Lee Bailey Weaver, age 67 of Altus, passed away December 29, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Zenobia was born September 18, 1936 at Frederick, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and resident of Altus for forty six years. Zenobia was also a member of the Sunset Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Bailey and one sister, Hattie Mae Ingram. Zenobia is survived by her sons, Grady Harris and wife Mybritt of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Robert Epperson of Altus and two daughters, Kristi McNeil and husband Benjamin of Harvey, Illinois and Carolyn Sibley of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. |

| Steven Scott Wert Steven S. Wert age 35, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Altus. He was born to Harold R. Wert and Judy (Graves) Horn on November 26, 1968 in Charleston, South Carolina. He moved to Altus at a young age and graduated Altus High School in 1987. He then attended OSU. He served in the U.S Navy before returning to the Altus area. Steven is survived by his mother Judy Horn and husband Floyd of Altus, Oklahoma; father Bob Wert and wife Carol of Sentinel Oklahoma; two sons, Jordan Scot Wert and William Hudson of Altus, Oklahoma; a loved one, Janie Chavarria of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Teresa Tobola and husband George of Altus, Oklahoma and Lisa Cox and husband Jimmy of Altus, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews, as well as many, many other loving friends and relatives. | Arvil Lee West Sr Arvil Lee West Sr., 74, of Altus, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Arvil was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Norma, Tenn. He was the son of James Crawford and Josephine (Babb) West. He grew up in Tennessee where he met Marjorie Nell Webb. They were united in marriage on April 9, 1950, in Bowling Green, Ky. He worked as a coal miner for many years before coming to the Altus area. Arvil was a simple man whose world revolved around his family. He devoted his life to his wife and his children, supporting them with love and humor. He loved to fish. His many friends in the Altus, Blair and Lake Altus areas will remember his love of the sport. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Altus. Arvil was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and his memory will be cherished by the many whose lives he has touched. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Arvil Lee West Jr.; one sister, Lassie Burris; and one brother, Clarence William West. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of the home in Altus; four children, Lindy Tucker of Mason, Ohio, Micheal Douglas west of Carthage, Ohio, Nancy Raleigh and husband Percy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Wm. | Jessie Mae Westfall Jessie Mae Westfall, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at Grace Living Center in Altus, Oklahoma. She was born in Obrien, Texas on December 31, 1910 to David H. Thomas and Senna Ora (Cummins) Thomas. She married Denny Taylor Gibbons in 1936; he preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Floyd Westfall in 1978; he also preceded her in death in 1997. She worked at Bartons Drug Store in Altus for several years. She also kept children in her home, and worked in the nursery at Emmanuel Baptist Church for about 17 years. She loved working in her yard and growing flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son; Jackie Carol Gibbons; three sisters, Lucille Weatherall, Mattie Jones, and Jack Barnard; one brother Robert Thomas; one grandson, Jay Don Phillips; and one great grandson, Kevin Dean Reaser. Survivors include one daughter; Joy Phillips of Altus, two nieces, Pat Barton and Sue Barnard of Knox City Texas, four grandchildren,Phillis Findley and husband Dr. John Findley of Bakersfield, CA., Vickie Kline and husband Billy Kline of Hobart, OK., Sherrie Reaser and husband Joe Don Reaser of Altus, OK., and Phillip Phillips of Upper Marlbaro, Maryland; eleven great grand children; John and David Findley; Chris and Brian Kline; Lori and Shane Reaser; Malisa Phillips-Gibson, Phillip J. | Thelma Jewell Wolfe Thelma Jewell Wolfe, age 83 of Altus, passed away July 28, 2003 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Services are set for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 31, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Boyd Whitehead will officiate and interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Thelma was born October 13, 1919 in Jackson County, Oklahoma to parents Jack Martin and Roxie Black Martin. She grew up in the Headrick Community, where she attended the Headrick First Baptist Church. On March 27, 1937 Thelma was united in marriage to Olan Wolfe at Wellington, Texas. They enjoyed many years of marriage and she worked as a homemaker. In later years, Thelma became a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus, where she enjoyed attending. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Olan and one brother, Earl Martin. She is survived by two children, Gaye and husband Alton Harvey of Lakeway, Texas and Jack and Barbara Wolfe of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Bonnie Costello of Modesto, California and Bobbie Artiaga of Modesto, California; four grandchildren, Rick and wife Renee Wolfe of Lawton, Michelle and husband John Wright of Elk City, Vicki and husband John Vickers of Cedar Park, Texas, Robert and wife Carol Harvey of Wilmette, Illinois and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. |

| Myrna Wrabel Myrna Wrabel age 65, passed away April 17, 2004 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. Myrna was born February 20, 1939 to Grady and Beulah ( Drury) Parker. Myrna was a life time resident of Altus. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She played the piano for the Friendship Baptist Church where she attended. She also enjoyed reading. Myrna is lovingly survived by her parents Grady and Beulah Parker of Altus, Oklahoma, three sons Danny Thompson and wife Angela of Altus, Oklahoma, Bill Cook of Houston, Texas and James Buterbaugh and wife Terri of Irving, Texas, one daughter Janet Allen and husband Dave of San Antonio, Texas, two step-children David Buterbaugh and Roberta Enright, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Myrna was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Price and one brother, Wilton Parker. Services will be held Friday, April 23, 2004 at 2:00pm at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev.
