Obituary for Joey Greer
Joey Greer, resident of Altus, Oklahoma, and former resident of Gould, Oklahoma, left his earthly home to join the arms of the Lord on February 3, 2024, at the age of sixty-seven, while surrounded by his loving family.

On October 7, 1956, Joey, the youngest of seven children, was born to Newt and Minnie Greer. Joey was raised and educated in Gould, Oklahoma, graduating high school in 1975. In high school, Joey played baseball. He loved the sport, and his love for it continued into his adult life. Joey also enjoyed following college sports. Growing up, he was an active member of the Nazarene Church in Gould, Oklahoma. Joey had planned to attend seminary school with his lifelong friend, Kevin Crockett, but life took him in a different direction. In July 1975, he started working for American Gypsum. During his 48-year career, Joey showed complete loyalty to his company and co-workers. He held many positions over the years but was currently the receiving manager until his passing. Joey owned and operated a part-time business, Kwik-N-Kleen Chimney Sweep, for over 30 years. When he started falling off roofs, his son-in-law, Jim Bob, stepped in to help and fall off for him.

Joey married the love of his life, LaGeanna Thompson, on May 26, 1978, in Vernon, Texas. Their 45 years together blessed them with their daughters, Kerri and Kristen, and many grandchildren and dogs. He knew the bible front to back and loved teaching his children about the word of God. He also enjoyed talking about family history and telling stories from his childhood. He was a Conoco Evening Coffee Club Member, where he was considered "The Mayor." Other members included Lynn Rowland, "The Educator," Ray Neal, "The Manager," Terry Southall, "The Police Officer," and Jack Tinney, "The Plumber." You could find them at Conoco, solving the world's problems every evening. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the casino.

Of all his accomplishments, Joey treasured being a Papa more than anything. He developed a special bond with each of his grandchildren. With that came a special nickname for each of them. Joey was a simple, soft-spoken man; he didn't like a lot of attention but enjoyed taking it all in, often ending up on the floor playing with the littles. He was reserved but held his family and friends close to his heart. He leaves a legacy of loyalty, love, and dedication.

Joey is preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Minnie Greer; siblings Aubrey Greer, Harley Greer, and Larry Greer; and lifelong friend Mark Haught.

Left to honor his memory include his wife LaGeanna Greer; daughters Kerri Bentley and Kristen Rempel and husband Jim Bob; brothers Travis Greer and wife Linda, Gary Greer and wife Margie, and sister Patsy Hendricks; grandchildren include Shelbi "Shelbi Lyn Buggie Buggie" Buchanan and husband Jake, Bayli "Josie Fern" Holt and husband Lance, Avery "Reeser" Rempel, Landry "Jack" Rempel, and Collins "Kolby Keith" Rempel; great-grandchildren include Bentley "Jolene" Holt, Tate "Bocephus" Buchanan, and Lennon "Jessie" Holt, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, close friend, Charlie Keegan and other extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Integris Hospice House, 13920 Quailbrook Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
