Urns

Cast Bronze Cremation Urns
Urns that contain a great deal of pattern or detail are produced in our bronze sand foundry.

Due to the labor-intensive process of casting, cast products are more expensive than fabricated or spun products

Sheet Bronze for Caskets and Cremation Urns
The sheet bronze we use is 90% copper, which is a higher content than that which is used to make our cast products. Sheet bronze is sheared, bent, and welded to create the final product.

Sheet bronze is available only with a satin finish, which makes these urns easy to engrave. Fabricated sheet bronze urns are very high quality and their method of manufacturing is extremely cost effective.

Quality Note: The weight of the sheet bronze used to create the most expensive bronze casket is 48oz. The weight of the sheet bronze used to create our least expensive bronze urn is 50oz.

Spun Sheet Bronze Cremation Urns
Spinning is a cost-effective way to make a round urn/urn component out of a piece of flat sheet bronze.

There is no heat involved; the shape is achieved by friction. The Grace urn at right shows a combination of cast and spun elements.

Lost Wax Cremation Urn Manufacturing
Our lost wax pieces come from foundries that specialize in producing lost wax art castings. The sculptured bronze urns of our Canneto Collection are made using the lost wax method.

The lost wax method is a 12-step process which results in a beautiful piece of art

Cold Cast Bronze Cremation Urns
Cold cast cremation urns are formed by combining bronze "dust" with epoxies, which produces a thick liquid that is poured into a mold.

This process takes place at room temperature. No heat is involved

Copper Cremation Urns
Like bronze, copper is recognized for its durability. We introduced copper into our line of cremation urns in 1999.

Copper is available in both sheet and spun styles. Because of copper's unique color in relation to other urns, it offers great eye appeal.

Stainless Steel Cremation Urns
Stainless steel is known for its strength and durability. This type of steel is an alloy of iron, which contains more than 10% chromium.

It is the chromium that forms the hard oxide coating on the surface, preventing oxidation and distinguishing it from other types of steel. Meierjohan-Wengler was a pioneer in combining bronze and stainless steel to create a classic look, reminiscent of many jewelry styles.

Like copper and bronze, we offer both sheet and spun styles of stainless steel

Pewter Cremation Urns
Pewter is a soft metal composed of 92% tin, 5% antimony, and 3% copper.

Although it is a soft metal, it is still easily engraved. Both of the urns in our line are made from spun pewter.
