Ada Georgia Bonds, age 94, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, at McKinney Medical Center, in McKinney Texas.
Mrs. Bonds had spent most of her life in Altus, Oklahoma before moving to Allen, Texas, in 2013. Ada was born February 22, 1919, in Duke, Oklahoma where she spent her early years. Ada was the daughter of James Washington and Eva Angerona (Martin) Bonds. She graduated from Duke High School as valedictorian of her class. Ada was a member of the First Methodist Church of Duke, Oklahoma and worked for the First National Bank, of Altus, Oklahoma for 36 years before retiring. She retired with the position of vice-president and auditor where she loved her customers and her work dearly and all the employees of the bank.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews plus other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Ada Bonds will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
