Addie Bell Blackburn Addie Bell Blackburn was born November 27, 1908 in Elmore City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Claud Vivian and Ollie Mae (Blain) Howard. She passed away September 28, 2000 in Altus, Oklahoma. On June 26, 1926 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Addie and Rev. Carl Blackburn were united in marriage. He preceded her in death in 1983. Addie had been a resident of Jackson County since 1943. She was a homemaker, a member of the United Pentecostal Church, where she was known as the Mother of the Church. She is survived by four children Earl Blackburn of Altus, Oklahoma, Geraldine Romines of Altus, Oklahoma, Cleda Romines of Las Vegas, Nevada, Glenda Bower of Altus,, Oklahoma; one sister, Zettie Dill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Terry Don Blackburn, Donna Kay Gagnon, Ricky Blackburn, Mike Bower, Gary Romines, David Romines, Paula Kubik and Linda Sue Wynn. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Addie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Margarette Perry, and one great-granddaughter, Rachel Bower, one son-in-law Paul Romines. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 10:00 AM in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Bower Officiating, assisted by Lionel Mounce. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
