Obituary for Agatha Gertrude Shogrin
Agatha Shogrin, age 68 of Altus, Oklahoma peacefully passed away at her home after a long struggle with cancer on Saturday, December 17, 2005.
Agatha was born on November 11, 1937 in Sharon, Kansas to Herbert and Monica (Boor) Landwehr. She married Robert Shogrin on July 17, 1958 and they spent forty-seven wondrous years together. Agatha and Robert had four loving children who were blessed to have Agatha as their devoted mother.
Agatha was a truly spiritual and giving woman. She was an active member of the Bereavement Committee and always went out of her to aid families in need.
She devoted much of her time as a home health care provider for disabled and severely mentally disabled individuals, always treating and protecting them as her own children. Her favorite activity was to spend time laughing, playing and caring for her five young grandchildren for whom she adored.
Her, parents, two sisters, Cecilia Landwehr and Rosie Leis, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her four children, David Shogrin and wife Tammy of Littleton, Colorado, Sharon Shogrin of Denver, Colorado, Brad Shogrin and wife Beth of Superior, Colorado and Joe Shogrin and wife Kristina of Altus, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Victoria Shogrin, Madison Shogrin, Bailey Shogrin, Grace Shogrin and Olivia Shogrin; brothers and sisters, Monica Hendricks and husband Richard of Sharon, Kansas, Theresa Smith and husband Richard of Walnut Grove, Missouri, Pat Adelhardt and husband Ron of Partridge, Kansas, Louise Martin and husband Ted of Cheney, Kansas, Herbert Landwehr Jr. and wife Vonda of Sharon, Kansas, Marcella Hansard and husband John of Wichita, Kansas; a brother-in-law, Lester Leis of Garden Plaine, Kansas; God Children, Herbert Landwehr III, Glen Hansard, Tony Hansard and Helen Ann Ortega.
A prayer vigil will be held on Tuesday evening, December 20, 2005 at 8 pm at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11 am at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph Arledge officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, Oklahoma.
