Obituary for Albert Ray Williams
Albert Ray Williams, a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at his home on May 13, 2024. Born on July 18, 1951, in Earle, Arkansas, to Grady Williams and Nola Warren Williams, Albert spent his formative years in Earl, where he received his education. In 1971, Albert proudly enlisted in the United States Army, embarking on a journey that took him to various stations across the country, including a memorable stint in Korea from August 1975 to September 1976. During his military service, he fulfilled diverse roles, starting as a projectionist and later serving as a tack wire specialist, proficient in installing phone lines. His tenure culminated with service in a canning crew at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Albert's dedication to duty earned him an honorable discharge as a Sgt on January 26, 1979. Returning home, Albert dutifully cared for his parents and served his community as a police officer in Earle, Arkansas. On March 4, 1974, he married his childhood sweetheart, Emma Williams, in Payneway, Arkansas. For over 18 years, Albert worked as a security specialist for Wells Fargo, where he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his profession. Beyond his professional endeavors, Albert found solace in the great outdoors, relishing fishing and hunting expeditions. His greatest joy, however, stemmed from time spent with his beloved family, particularly his nieces and nephews. An animal lover at heart, Albert cherished the companionship of his pets, who held a special place in his heart. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Thomas Williams. He is survived by his devoted wife, Emma, and his sister, Thelma Lee Weathers, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a wide circle of friends. Though he will be dearly missed, Albert's legacy of love and service will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
