Alberta Haralson Groseclose


Alberta Groseclose was born November 3, 1917 at Olustee, Oklahoma. She died May 24, 1993 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. She was the daughter of Tobe and Mittie Haralson. She married William J. Groseclose March 18, 1855 at Altus, Oklahoma. She was a long time resident of Altus and Jackson County until 1960 when they moved to Midwest City. She worked at the Altus Air Force Base in the Engineering Department for 6 years, then with the Altus Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years.

She and her husband moved from Altus in 1960 to Midwest City and returned to Altus in 1989. She had belonged to the Midwest City Council garden Club, and had been active with the Midwest City School District.

Services are scheduled for 11 am Friday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Goseclose's name to the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include husband William Groseclose of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Julie Brewer and Ted of Tokyo, Japan; sister, Wilma Mackey of Altus, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Scott and Kelly Brewer of Tokyo, Japan; niece Cindy Ray of Altus, Oklahoma; great niece and nephew, Joelle Dickenson and Jeff Ray.

Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Lucye Strange, 1978, Opal Haralson, 1985,
