Alton L. Reid passed away March 23rd, 1982 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 26th, 1982 at Tims Chapel of Memories with Rev. Joe Frederick officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Alton was born September 16th, 1905 in Blair, Oklahoma to John U. and O'Zella (Green) Reid. He married Opal L. Eley on December 31, 1931. To this union two children were born, a son. Dan Reid of Houston, Texas and a daughter, Rhonda McCoy of Altus, Oklahoma. Alton's wife, children and five grandchildren survive him.

Mr. Reid was a busy man. He graduated from Altus High School in 1922. Was district Manager for Altus Gins for 21 years. Worked for the Chickasha Oil Co. for a period of time. In 1949 he became a Hospital Administrator until 1955. At that time he entered the Peanut business, He was a teacher and choir member at the First Christian Church and was member of the Altus City Council. He will be missed by family and many, many friends.
