Obituary for Alva Bob Wooldridge
Bob Wooldridge, seventy-nine, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 6, 1945, in Hollis, Oklahoma, Bob was the cherished son of Ted and Rubye (Morris) Wooldridge.
Raised in Mangum, Oklahoma, Bob graduated from Mangum High School in 1963 before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy Business from Oklahoma State University. His deep connection to the land and passion for nature were lifelong themes, influencing both his career and hobbies.
On December 29, 1968, Bob married his soulmate, Martha Curtis, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned over five decades. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories in Stillwater, Enid, and ultimately Altus, Oklahoma.
Bob's professional life was rooted in agriculture, working with Farmland, Union Equity, Southwest Grain Elevator, Holder Brothers Beef and Western Equipment. He also poured his heart into raising horses at Wooldridge Farms, where he found joy and fulfillment in working with the horses and the land. His love for the outdoors extended to his personal life, where he delighted in working in his yard, fishing, woodworking, and painting.
A man of deep faith, Bob was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in both Altus and Mangum. He found peace in the beauty of nature and joy in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Rubye Wooldridge.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Martha; his daughters, Jennifer Roberson and her husband, Slade of Edmond, and Ashley Robinson and her husband, Chad of Gould; and his adored grandchildren, Taylor, Marlie, and Josie Robinson, and Chase and Brock Roberson. Bob will also be deeply missed by a host of extended family members, lifelong friends, and all who were touched by his gentle spirit and generous heart.
The Wooldridge family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday December 12, 2024 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at First Methodist Church, Mangum, Oklahoma with Pastor Don Altom officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
