Obituary for Alva Ray Johnson
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, First Christian Church, Altus, for Mr. Alva Ray Johnson, age 58, of Altus. Reverend Joe Fredrick, pastor, will officiate with burial in Altus City Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson died early Monday morning from exposure. He was a long time supervisor with Altus Cotton Oil Mill, had worked until approximately 10:00 P.M. Sunday night, had gone home and was in route back to the mill, leaving his rural residence at approximately 6:00 A.M.. At around 8:30 A.M., his stalled pickup and the body of Mr. Johnson was found by a passing motorist.

Survivors include: his wife, Jewell, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Burgett of Blair; his mother, Mrs. Lela Johnson of Altus; one sister, Mrs. Doc Duke of Altus; three grandchildren.
