Amber Renee Burrows, a radiant soul whose kindness and joy touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Altus, Oklahoma. Born on October 4, 1980, in Altus to Bobby and Kathy (Wright) Burrows, Amber spent her early years in her hometown before moving to Del City in 1993, where she lived until 2021. A proud graduate of Del City High School in 2001, Amber's remarkable spirit shone brightly in every aspect of her life. She was a celebrated athlete, earning over three hundred Gold Medals and countless awards and trophies through her participation in the Special Olympics. Her determination, perseverance, and boundless enthusiasm inspired everyone around her. Amber's heart was as vast as her smile-a smile that could light up any room. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: the timeless films of John Wayne, the soulful music of Dolly Parton, and the magic of stories-whether flipping through books herself or being read to by her devoted parents. She adored swimming and any activity involving water, and her happiest moments were spent playing with her cousins and being surrounded by family. Though her journey was marked by challenges, Amber's resilience, warmth, and unconditional love left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She carried a heart of gold, radiating kindness and joy wherever she went. Amber was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Kathy Burrows; her grandparents, Earl and Imogene Burrow (paternal) and Kenneth and Atha Mae Wright (maternal); her cousin, Dean Leaf; her uncles, Benny Burrows and Tony Guthrie; and her aunt, Delynn Anderson. She is survived by her devoted father, Bobby Burrows; her cherished aunt, Brenda Guthrie; and many loving cousins who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Amber's legacy of love, courage, and unshakable joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her light will never fade. "Her smile was a beacon, her heart a treasure-forever loved, forever missed. "The Burrows family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 pm. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Altom officiating. Interment will follow to Warren Cemetery, where Amber will be laid to rest next to her mother. (If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Amber's honor to the Special Olympics or a charity of your choice.)
