Andrea Jean Smith, a devoted lifelong resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of sixty-five.
Andrea was born on May 19, 1960, in Altus, Oklahoma to Ronald Gene Parrish and Jo Ann (Ryan) Parrish. Raised and educated in her beloved hometown, she graduated from Altus High School in 1978. Shortly after, Andrea discovered her true calling in nursing, beginning her compassionate career at English Village Nursing Home in Altus. In 1980, she joined Jackson County Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated herself to caring for others until her retirement due to health challenges.
On December 26, 1981, Andrea married her childhood best friend, Randy Smith, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, beginning a loving partnership that spanned over five decades.
Andrea was a true saint, known for her boundless generosity and willingness to do anything for anybody. Her greatest joy came from helping others and tending to her cherished family, especially her children and grandchildren. She found simple pleasures in watching television, with the beloved sitcom "Friends" holding a special place in her heart. Her favorite movie, "The Wizard of Oz," was one she could happily watch on repeat, a testament to her enduring spirit and sense of wonder.
