Obituary for Anna Lee Owens
Anna Lee Owens, 89, formerly of Altus, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Grace Living Center in Buffalo, Oklahoma.
She was born August 7, 1920, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Clara (Morris) Noble. She had lived in the Altus community for fifty-three years.
Leslie Owens and Anna Noble were united in marriage September 1, 1940, in Mustang, Oklahoma. They had fifty-three wonderful years together.
Anna spent most of her life as a loving mother and housewife. After her children left home, she spent several years in a dream come true job working in a fabric shop.
Anna and Leslie loved to travel the world. They made many trips to Europe and enjoyed going to Alaska and Canada.
Anna"s one true pastime was her sewing. She was an excellent seamstress and designed many of her clothes. She also liked to try all types of crafts. She was a very creative person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, in 2004; her parents; six brothers, John Noble, Joseph Noble, James Noble, Sherman Noble, Grant Noble, and Alvin Noble; and one sister, Elizabeth Allocco.
Anna is lovingly survived by her two children, Howard Owens of Oklahoma City and Sherry Harkins and her husband, Jim, of Buffalo, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Julie Owens of Edmond, Justin Owens of San Antonio, Texas, and Michael Harkins of Centreville, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Cason Hayes, Alison Harkins, and Andrew Harkins.
Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Altus City Cemetery with Chaplain Erin Martinez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
