Annie (Sue) Iken, age 87, of Plantation Village Assisted Living in Altus, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 29th, 2017.
Sue was born in Mississippi January 27th 1930 to Rayburn and Clara Mae Parker. She married Raymond Iken in 1950. They lived in Massachusetts, Mississippi, and New Mexico. Sue moved to Altus in 1959 when Ray was assigned by the Air Force to Altus AFB. In 1960 they moved to a farm in Blair. She worked many years as a bank teller and in the Jackson County treasurer"s office. She and Ray opened their home to the airmen as a Christian Serviceman"s Home from 1959 to 1985. Sue taught Bible classes for years and spoke at many area women"s Bible conferences. She and Ray taught an Adult Sunday School class at the Base Chapel for over 40 years. Sue is survived by her husband Ray of Plantation Village, and two children, a son, Dan Iken of Altus and wife Ginny, a daughter Jan Pennock of Spokane, WA and a sister, Carolyn Webb of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by a younger sister, Lynn Parker. Sue had 5 grandchildren, Tammy and husband John Frizzell of Wichita, KS, Steve Iken and Julie Thaggard of Altus, Keith Pennock of Seattle, WA and Nathan Pennock and wife Angie of Portland, OR. She also had 9 great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be later this April.
