Obituary for Arnold Starr Chambers
Arnold Starr Chambers, age 75, life time resident of Greer County, passed away Friday, May 9th, 1986, at a Mangum nursing home. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Epworth Methodist Church in Mangum, officiated by The Reverend Margaret Marcy. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Mr. Chambers was born at Hester Community, Greer County, Oklahoma on October 14th, 1910.
He was the son of the late James William Chambers and Jessie Roann Arnold.
During World War II, Mr. Chambers was a Navy Sea Bee in the Azores and Pacific Theaters. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, I.O.O.F., Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a retired Postal employee. He married Dorothy Belle Templer July 31, 1933 in Mangum. She preceded him in death March 20, 1986.
Survivors include: one son, James Chambers of Richardson, Texas; two daughters, Molly Ann Collins of Mangum and Nancy Atwood of Stockton, CA; one sister, Pat Curtis of Mangum; eight grandchildren.
