Arthur Thomas "Tom" Brunhuber, Jr., age 71 of Altus, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home in Altus.
Tom was born in Panama City, Florida on March 11, 1945 to Arthur and Betty (Heien) Brunhuber. He graduated from Altus High School and completed two years at Altus Junior College. He worked in the construction field as a foreman and superintendent. Most of his work assignments were at Altus Air Force Base and Lawton, Oklahoma. A macho exterior with a heart of gold, Tom inspired many around him with his kindness and loyalty to his family and friends. He had an uncanny ability to remember names, faces and events no matter how long it had been or how brief.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tom is survived by his brother, James Kenneth Brunhuber of Miami, Oklahoma; an aunt, Elizabeth Wheeler and husband Elmer Gene of Colorado Springs, Colorado; along with other relatives and many friends.
Tom had a special love for all of God"s creatures and especially his cat"s; "Midnight" and "Stinker".
Memorial Donations May be Made to the Humane Society of the United States at or (866) 720-2676 or to any Charity of your choice in honor of Tom Brunhuber.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Centennial Chapel at Altus City Cemetery in Altus with Brother Lionel Mounce officiating.
