Audrey Payne
Audrey Payne age 88 of Olustee, Oklahoma, was born August 17, 1908, in Dawson, Texas, the daughter of the late Richard and Beulah "Walls" Payne. She was a longtime Jackson County Resident. Miss Payne passed away Saturday, January 18, 1997, in the Altus House Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 1997, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Noel George and Don Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. She was a retired employee of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital for many years. Miss Payne was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church. Audrey was a second mom and grandmother to her many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include one brother, Virgie Payne of Altus, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law Gladys Payne of Mangum, Oklahoma. Eighteen Nieces and nephews; Lavonne Hansen of North Hills, CA, Claude Payne of McDavid, FL, Ed Payne of El Paso, TX, Connie Payne of Altus, OK Elaine Gentry of Ashville, NC, Mozella Walker of Oklahoma City, OK, Evaline Scalf of Altus, OK, Barbara Payne of Wichita Falls, TX, J. L. Payne, Billy Payne and Dennis Payne all of Mangum, OK, Sylvia Potts of Ft. Towson, OK, Beverly Ivey of Eugene, OR, Gayle Powell of Stephenville, TX, Dale Johnson of Bradenton, FL, Ron Mobley of Olustee, OK and Al Mobley of Granite, OK; 52 Great Nieces and nephews and 6l Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. She is also survived by her extended family at Altus House Nursing Home and the Jackson County Memorial Hospice.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Vernon Payne and one sister, Ivy Manuel.
