Mr. Waldroop was born in Jackson County, Oklahoma on February 1, 1916 to Thomas and Emma Waldroop. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He married Ellen Inzer November 10, 1934 in Friendship, Oklahoma.

Austin is survived by his wife Ellen of the home in Headrick, three children: Sue Lewis of Los Animas, Colorado, Caroll Robbins of Headrick, Oklahoma and Austin Releigh Waldroop of Altus, Oklahoma, four sisters, Vinita Ferris of Headrick, Oklahoma, Elfreda Forducy and Jewel Shipp both of Pampa, Texas and Winnie Lee Estes of Altus, Oklahoma. Also surviving are eight Grandchildren and eight great Grandchildren.

Services for Austin Waldroop are scheduled for Tuesday, February 5 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ with Ardron Hinton and Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at the Navajo Cemetery in Friendship, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
