Barbara Ann Mardis, age 78, of Altus, passed away Monday afternoon, March 9, 2015, at English Village Manor, in Altus.

Mrs. Mardis was born in Marietta, Georgia on February 1, 1937, to Carl Harold and Mary Louise (Roland) Graham. After graduating from high school in Toccoa, Georgia, Barbara married Donald Mardis and they spent the next thirty-nine wonderful years together before his death in 1995. Due to Donald"s position in the military, the family lived in many different locations, arriving at Altus Air Force base in 1971. Settling in Blair, Barbara worked at the Blair Gin, the Blair Enterprise and was later the Blair Tag Agent. Barbara retired in 1987, and the family moved to Altus in 1994. During her spare time Barbara enjoyed volunteering at the VFW, cooking, sewing, going to casinos and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four sisters, Genevieve, Jenny, Juanita and Louise; one brother, Hugh Graham and a grandson, Brandon Stanfield, she is survived by three children, Teresa Mardis of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Robert Mardis and wife Pamela of Alvin, Texas and Mary Stager and husband David of Altus; one sister, Betty Sue Addington and husband Phil of Easley, South Carolina; two brothers, Harold Graham of Toccoa, Georgia and Melvin Graham and wife Barbara of Toccoa, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jeanine Herrmann and husband Curtis, Joshua Mardis and wife Sarah, Elizabeth Mardis, Scott Madden and wife Brittney, Stacy Hernandez and husband Adam, Christopher Stager and Ethan Stager; fourteen great grandchildren, Dakota McKee, Savanah Herrmann, Mercedes Herrmann, Chandler Herrmann, Tristan Herrmann, Chase Herrmann, Joshua Mardis, Jackson Mardis, Jessah Mardis, Annabelle Flanagan, Adele Flanagan, Brylie Madden, Kailey Vanderslice and Dylan Hernandez along with many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Barbara Mardis will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
