Obituary for Barbara June Johnson

Barbara June Johnson, age 86, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 with her daughter Cheryl and Ray Walker by her side. Barbara was born June 7th, 1932 in Bergen, New York to her parents Glen Calkins and Lorraine (Baker) Walker.
She married Edwin H. Johnson on March 6th, 1954. Together they had two children, daughter Cheryl and son Brian.
Barbara was a member of Presbyterian Church in Brockport, New York. She Graduated college from Eastman School of Music with a Master's in Music and English. She taught English and was a Special Education teacher at Brockport High School in Brockport, New York. She was also a private music teacher. Barbara was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, VFW and New York Club. She resided in Rotonda, FL for 22 years before moving to Wichita Falls, TX. Her favorite song was "How great thou Art" and her favorite bible scripture was John 3:13.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Glen Calkins; mother, Lorraine (Baker) Calkins; Sister, Loretta (Calkins) Hoffman and husband, Edwin H. Johnson.
Barbara is survived by her companion Ray Walker; daughter Cheryl A. Branch and son-in-law Boyd D. Branch; Son Brian S. Johnson and daughter-in-law Evette Shareen Johnson; along with 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 24th, 2018 between 6-8 p.m. at the Christ Community Church in the Arrowhead Ranch Estates, Hwy 154, Wichita Falls, TX. Funeral services will be held at Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood, FL.
The family ask that instead of flowers that donations to be given to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
