Belia Maria Canales, age 45, was born May 20, 1949, in Mason, Texas, the daughter of the late Thomas N. Flores, Jr. and Mercy C. (Castorena) Flores. She came to Altus in 1966 from Muleshoe, TX. Mrs. Canales passed away Monday, December 12th, 1994, in the Mercy Medical Center, Oklahoma City, OK after a lengthy illness.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 1994, in the Altus City Cemetery with Father Tim Luschen officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
On June 19, 1983, she and Francisco Canales were united in marriage at Vernon, TX. Belia was a volunteer for the Mini Bus. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a member of G.I. Form for many years.
Survivors include: her Mother, Mercy C. Flores of Altus, OK; her husband, Francisco Canales of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Flores of Altus, OK; one brother, Louis C. Flores of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Ofelia Martinez of Lubbock, TX and Hellen Figueroa of San Antonio, TX; six nephews; three nieces; six great-nephews; two great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her Father, Thomas N. Flores, Jr., October 7, 1990.
