Obituary for Benjamen Franklin Brown
Mr. Benjamen Franklin Brown, age 78, of 1815 Sunset Dr., Altus, OK, died on April 6, 1968 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 1968 at Tims Chapel at 2:00 P.M., with Dr. Lee Bowles officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Brown had lived all of his life in Jackson County and was a retired farmer. He was married to the former Vaud Kiker on January 10,1905. He was a member of the Half Century Club.
He is survived by: his wife, Vaud, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. D. L. (Joyce) Thompson of Lawton, OK and Mrs. Robert (Lawanda) Majors of Talequah, OK; one granddaughter, who was raised in the home, Mrs. Charles Joye Benson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Brown of Martha, Marion Brown of Texas, and Sam Brown of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Mrs. Berta Scruggs of Asherton, TX, Mrs. George Burkett of Altus and Mrs. R. A. Tanner of Iowa Park, TX. He was preceded in death by one son, John Ben Brown, in August 1966.
