Obituary for Bethel B. Leonard
Bethel Leonard was born April 19, 1907 in Texas. She was the daughter of the late Ruben Henderson and Lue Nettie (Mitchell) Brown. bethel died March 31, 2001 in Altus. she married D.C. Leonard and he preceded her in death October 23, 1967. Bethel spent most of her life in Jackson County. She was a bookkeeper and clerk. she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1944, and a member of extension Homemakers over 50 years.

Survivors include grandchildren; Larry and Carolyn Osborne of Tipton, Tommy and Denice Sadler of Altus, Rick and DeAnne Switzer of Olustee, Dennis Joe and Karen Leonard of Jasper Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Randy and Jodi Sadler, Whitney and Jessica , warren Dennis Allen and Elizabeth Leonard, Chad and wife, Rhonda Osborne, Amy Osborne and Jason Switzer; great-great grandchildren Gabriel Leonard.

bethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 children, Dennis Graydon (Buddy) Leonard, Ovida Jho Leonard Osborne, and Jerry Dan Leonard, 5 brothers and sisters, Burnice Brown, Fay Leonard, Essie Wilson, Mable West, and Gene Davis.

Services for Bethel Leonard are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Lowell-tims Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Memorials in honor of Bethel Leonard may be made to the Jackson County Memorial Hospice.
