Obituary for Bettie Ann Buck
Funeral Services for Bettie Ann Buck , age 61, of Altus, Oklahoma are scheduled for Wednesday, January 1, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Bettie Ann Buck was born June 21, 1935 in Eastland, Texas to Joseph S. and Lola Mae Buck. Ann started school in Altus, OK and then moved to Fort Worth, TX with her parents, there she graduated from Paschae High School and Brantley-Draughan Business College.
Ann worked for Goodwill Industries and the Texas Rehabilitation Association in Ft. Worth as a receptionist and PBS operator. During her career Ann received over fifteen different awards, the two most significant were the Texas Rehabilitation Commission's Employee of the Year in 1989 and their Disabled Citizen of the Year in 1991. She retired after 32 years of service and later moved back to Altus with her parents. Her beautiful smile and outstanding attitude in spite of crippling arthritis made her an asset to any association or gathering.
Survivors include: her father, Joe S. Buck of Altus, OK; her mother, Lola Mae (McCullough) of Altus, OK; two brothers, E. Joe Buck and wife Marilyn of Altus, OK and Bill W. Buck of New Orleans, LA; two nephews, Brett Buck of New Orleans, LA and Gregg and Andrea Buck of Altus; four nieces, Mary Myers of Carrollton, TX, Tina and David Cossey of Oklahoma City, OK, Teri Philbrick of Edmond, OK and Toye and George Mitchell of Edmond, OK; four great-nephews, Brayden Buck, Carson Mitchell, Jacob Cossey and Bennett Philbrick; four great-nieces, Megan Myers, Stacy Buck, Whitney Mitchell and Abbey Philbrick.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Oklahoma Medical Research for Arthritis.
