Obituary for Betty (Elizabeth) Madl
Betty (Elizabeth) Madl, 81, passed peacefully at her home in Altus on July 30, 2019. She was born on September 22, 1937 in Kansas. She grew up on a farm in a small rural town in Southeastern Kansas and graduated from high school in Girard, Kansas. Betty was of the Catholic faith.

In December of 1955, Betty married George Madl. They built a life together and traveled while George served in the United States Air Force. Betty stayed home to raise their children, sometimes alone during George's assignments. They enjoyed making friends through their favorite pastime, square dancing. Betty waited until her children were grown to join the work force, becoming a clothing store manager in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and later working alongside George when he retired from the Air Force. After both retired, they returned to Altus to make their home.

Betty is survived by her husband George of the home and their three sons: Jim Madl and his wife, Rebecca, of Storres, Connecticut; Scott Madl and his wife, Susan, of Chillicothe, Texas; Dave Madl and his wife, Cathy, of Altus. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Betty was one of 9 children; a sister and 2 brothers survive her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made the Cancer Society or JCMH Hospice. We would like to thank Angle Care and JCMH Hospice for their care and kindness. We would also like to thank Dr. Leverett. The family would also like to especially thank Judy Graham, our special caregiver and now family friend.

The family is planning a private service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
