Obituary for Betty Sue Haynie
Funeral services will be held for Betty Sue Haynie at the First United Methodist Church of Altus under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery.

She was born Betty Sue Coe to Frank and Edna Coe at Altus, Oklahoma on October 4, 1928. She departed this life on October 21st, 2002 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married H. B. "Bob" Haynie on October 20, 1946 and lived most of her life at Altus.

She is survived by her husband of the home address; one daughter, Brenda Dailey of Norman, Oklahoma; and one son Timothy C. Haynie of Altus, Oklahoma. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Chris Dailey, Sara Dailey and Taylor Haynie Huey. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Reynolds of Odessa, Texas and Patsy Dial of Garland, Texas, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brent S. Haynie in 1989.

Betty had a very active life as a homemaker and loved collectibles such as Blue Willow and Charles Dickens Christmas Village. She was involved in a garden club, served as a precinct worker for the Jackson County Election Board and performed numerous volunteer works in the community for the elderly. She had been active in the Methodist Church serving as U.M.W. District President of the Clinton District from 1990-1993.

She had an active prayer ministry for many years and was partly responsible for the establishment of a prayer room at the First United Methodist Church. She taught numerous classes on prayer and grief. Betty's life has touched many lives and she will be missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Family Life Center at the First Methodist Church of Altus, Oklahoma.

The family of Betty Haynie will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
