Obituary for Beverly Lee Harris
Beverly Lee Harris, long-time Hollis resident, was called home to rest with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was 69 years old at the time of her transition from labor to reward. Arrangements have been made with the Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
Beverly was born on October 26, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents, Phillip and Anne Gray (Wallace). She grew up in Carthage, Texas and attended Turner High School. Beverly went on to continue her education at Panola College in Carthage. She married Ray Harris and worked as a homemaker managing the household and taking care of her children.
Outside of running the house, Beverly enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and going to garage sales and spending time with her family. She was a woman of strong faith and attended Pine Grove Baptist during her time in Carthage. Later, she moved her membership to the Calvary Community Church in Hollis.
Meeting Beverly at Heaven's gates are her husband, Ray Harris; her parents, Phillip and Anne Beatrice Gray; James and Ada Oneal; her brothers: Lawrence Oneal, James Oneal, and Steve Oneal; her sisters: Margaret Oneal and Roberta Dickson.
Those remaining to honor her everlasting memory are her son, Phillip Harris; her two daughters: Lanet Harris and Lasundra Harris; her brother: James Atkins; her sisters: Loretta Williamson, Alberta Davis, and Brenda Stevenson; seven grandchildren: Taniya Harris Marquise Harris, Quintin Harris; Ackiesha Harris, Anthony Black, Kale Harris and Sammy Palacio; two great-grandchildren: Honestee Daniels and Ace Black; as well as other relatives, friends, and church family.
