Obituary for Bill Ellis McNutt
Bill Ellis McNutt, 64, of Mangum, went to his heavenly home on February 9, 2022, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Bill was born on June 10, 1957, in Boise, Idaho to his parents Bill Jim McNutt and Dorothy (Johnson) McNutt. He moved to the Mangum, Oklahoma area in 1971 and graduated with the Mangum High School Class of 1976.
Bill met the love of his life, Patricia Cartwright, and they were united in marriage on November 18, 1977 at the Assembly of God church in Granite, Oklahoma. This marriage was blessed with 3 beautiful children. Bill was employed by Locklear Roofing for 7 years. He then went to work for Republic Gypsum where he devoted the next 27 years until his health started failing.
Bill was a proud member of The Lighthouse Church and made it his life’s mission to spread the gospel of Jesus. Bill was always happy and he never met a stranger. His hobbies were fishing, watching OU Football and talking to his friends and family on the phone. He also loved family gatherings but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy; father, Bill Jim McNutt; mother, Dorothy McNutt Beal; two sisters, Gini Sampson and Lillie White; and daughter-in- law, Shan McNutt.
Left to honor his memory is his wife of 44 years, Patricia McNutt; son, Cary McNutt; daughter, Tabricia Harpole; granddaughter, Haley McNutt; sister, Betty Broadrick and husband Nathan; brothers, Toney McNutt and wife Kathy, Tom McNutt and wife Doris, David McNutt and wife Tammy; brother-in-law, Gary Cartwright and his wife Tami; sisters-in-law, Lisa Gorrell and Annette McGuffee; brother-in-law, Darcy White; a beloved aunt, Bernice Channell, who he called mom; Justin Taylor, who he thought of as a son; and a host of family and friends.
The McNutt family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 at The Lighthouse Church, Mangum, Oklahoma.
