Obituary for Billy Ray Moore
Billy Ray Moore was born in Commerce, Texas on December 7, 1936 to Lawrence Newton and Elsie Pebbles Moore (Miller). He spent his early years in Commerce, Texas and then Blair, Oklahoma. He moved to Mangum in 1960. He began working at the Mangum Brick Plant and worked there for 35 years, he was one of the oldest employees. Bill loved to fish and listen to coon hounds run, but most of all he loved little kids and it didn’t matter if they were kin to him. Bill was kind and a gentle soul to everyone he met.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Elsie Moore; Brothers, John Wayne, Bobby Lynn, Jimmy LeRoy, Jerry Glenn; Sisters, Martha Nell Bishop, Elsie Mable Ketchum, and Miriam Kaye.
Billy is survived by brothers, Truman Gene of Oscesla, Missouri, Jessie Earl and wife Bea of El Dorado, Kansas, Sammy Nile and Janet of Blair, Oklahoma, Charlie Harris of Sayre, Oklahoma; Sister, Lola Merle Christopher and husband Russ of Clinton, Missouri; Brothers-in-law, Jim Ketchum of Harrisonville, Missouri, Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Open visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 1:00-5:00p.m. at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. at Greer Funeral Home, with services to follow at 2:00p.m. at Greer Funeral Home.
